Here’s a tale of two people that needs to be shared.
Meet Sam and Smriti, a lovely couple living in Melbourne and both big fans of street Art. Both frequent Hosier Lane together as they love the ever changing artworks.
Smriti lives Sam, so much that she desperately wanted him to propose to her. Sam, well he has an idea too, more on that shortly.
Smriti contacted me in November last year hatching a plan for Sam to ask the question someday. This was all scheduled for March 2018. The plan was do paint a big wall saying “hurry up and marry me”.. well, along those lines anyway. We didn’t decide on the exact text but you get the idea.
Fast forward to Feb 2018. A gentleman named Sam calls me; he wants to propose to his partner. Once we settled on the date, it was time to get the details of design and her name - Smriti. I couldn’t help but think, is this the same person? It’s not a common name (well, not to me anyway). I didn’t want to spoil this, for either of them so I pressed on with Sam’s big reveal to Smriti. Nothing was said by Smriti on the day so I could only assume, different person. Most people I do proposal walls for I meet for the first time at the wall you see. Tight lipped, a big successful proposal indeed.
So.... I spoke to Sam a week later and the story finally unravels. Yes, it’s the same Smriti. She’d picked the same artist, same location, same idea only a month later. She spotted me out there and knew the gig was up! “You even used my Ashley”.. she said laughing.
If there was ever a couple who were perfect in sync, it’s these two.
Congratulations again. This is an amazing story and the wonderful start of your lives together! ☮️❤️- KIL. #engagement #proposal #melbournegraffiti #hosierlane #melbourne #bride #montanacans_au
