Kerissa Ward  Hello my name is child of the One True King. I'm just a sinner saved by God's amazing grace! πŸ’œ

"I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth." Psalm 34:1 (NKJV)
I'm officially halfway through the semester. That's something to celebrate! πŸ’› This semester has been my most difficult semester yet. I sleep on average 1-3 hours a night because I have to do so much homework, reading, and studying. However, I am reminded of how BLESSED I am that God has given me a body that is ABLE to work, go to class, read, do homework, and study. 8 more weeks, people! Just 8 more weeks! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

This sweet friend of mine is currently in Nashville with his youngest granddaughter, Natalie, who is having her second open heart surgery at Vanderbilt. She is just a little over 3 months old. Please keep them all in your prayers. Our God is a healing God, and I believe that if it is His will, Miss Natalie will spend years and years being spoiled and loved by Gary and the rest of her family! πŸ’œ

My nephew is an angel! πŸ˜πŸ’™

Our visits may be few and far between these days, but our friendship is forever! Thankful for you, Han! πŸ’œ

Happy 96th birthday to my sweet mamaw Puckett! πŸ’œ

Happy birthday to my mamaw Jane! πŸ’œ
There's no one like a mamaw! My best friend from day one. My partner in crime. I miss making memories with her and sharing my everyday life with her. Visiting Mamaw Jane was a part of my daily routine for 16 1/2 years. When she passed away, I didn't know how to create a new routine without her in it. I grew up and matured very quickly after she passed away because I soon realized what was really important in my life.
First, I realized I was never going to make it through without completely leaning on God. I became so much closer to Jesus through the passing of my mamaw. That first year or two without her was very rough, but God carried me through!
Second, the relationships you have with your family and your friends, and the memories you make with these people are INVALUABLE. Take as many pictures and videos as you can! You can never have too many!
Third, put down your phone. Put down your homework. Turn your Netflix off. TALK to people!!! Invest and get to know someone! LISTEN! Make a point to truly value each moment you have with a person! We're so wrapped up in ourselves and our selfishness that we neglect to realize that our relationships with people can make a difference in their lives! Invest in people because we all have a set time on this earth, and no one knows when that time expires!

I never thought I would have the honor of meeting Shawn Johnson, one of my all-time favorite Olympic gymnasts! I had another great surprise today when her husband, Andrew, who I watch from their YouTube channel, showed up as well! They were both so nice and personable! I'm so glad I got the chance to meet them! πŸ’›πŸ˜Š

Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! πŸ–€
A special friend once told me to say Jesus' name out loud when Satan tries to get to me. As these words came out of my mouth earlier today, I was reminded of the song "Just Say Jesus".
-When you don't know what to say
-Just say Jesus
-There's still power in the name
-The name of Jesus
-If the words won't come
-Cause you're too afraid to pray
-If the words won't come
-And you don't know what to say
-Just say Jesus
God knows our prayers and our hearts before we ever speak a word to Him. I am thankful for my Lord and Savior who listens to me when all I can get out is "Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!".

Ever just have "one of those days"?
-Overslept 20 minutes.
-Got stuck in traffic.
-Added 10 extra minutes driving around an accident.
-Ran to class to be on time.
-Did AWFUL on a presentation.
-Got kicked in the butt by a test.
-Car wouldn't start while I was 30 minutes from home.
-Missed out on a deal at Ulta.
-Shattered my phone screen.
Ever had "one of those days"?! In the midst, it's easy to feel frustrated when you're late, when your car doesn't start, or when you shatter your phone, but I am a strong believer that "all things work together for good to them that love God". (Romans 8:28) I am thankful God showed me something was wrong with my car while I was PARKED and not while I was driving on the interstate. I'm glad God placed people in my path today that offered to help me with my car problems. I'm glad that God allowed me to be late this morning because it might be what kept me from being involved in that car accident. I'm glad Cristal was with me to help keep me calm today. The Lord takes care of His children. Today was a perfect example of that. Even in a day full of struggles, I see God working in my life! I am blessed! πŸ’›
