Kelsey Kiel has competed every day since Thursday. It started Thursday in the Wodapalooza Weightlifting Faceoff and then she immediately rolled into a 3-day competition on Friday with her Elite Team of 3. Kelsey and her teammate Kelly Baker, have competed at WZA on teams of 3 for the past 3 years and they recruited Erika Theison to join them this year.
We are just so happy to be here. Look at where we are! We are in Miami, in the sunshine, with my best friends. I am a little more sore than I thought I’d be, after lifting so heavy in the FaceOff, but it was worth it,” said Kelsey Kiel from Team #noBS, which is currently sitting in 6th place.
Only a handful of athletes participated on Thursday as well as the weekend. Kelsey seemed unphased on Thursday saying, “The FaceOff is a different kind of weightlifting competition, it’s not so serious and rigid, but it’s still a chance to do something I love.”
