Some followed my pregnancy blog Snapchat & are aware. But for those that are unaware. As you can see 👀... my weight climbed all the way up to 261 lbs during my pregnancy. Yup!🤫🙃Sure, I could’ve used it as my starting weight. But to me, it’s misleading.

See, a mother’s body goes through soooo many changes following delivery. Water weight, blood & hormones are still shifting & adjusting. At your 6wk check up, that’s your real starting point. Well for me it is. When my doc cleared me at my 6wk appt, I weighed 241, a 20 lb difference. That’s when I began my postpartum grind! Yes, I am a #breastfeeding mommy too🤱🏽 currently supplementing as my supply has drastically decreased.

It’s funny bcz the only reason I stepped on the scale upon arriving home from the hospital was bcz I had never done it before. I wouldn’t have even known I weighed 261! 🤷🏽‍♀️ With my daughter I didn’t weigh in at home. I discovered I was sitn at 264 lbs at my 6wk check up. I could only imagine what my weight would’ve been prior to my checkup with her.🤔

Be real with yourself. The scale is just a tool. Do not get caught up on it. Do not get in your feelings over a number. Outside of my scale recordings. I record my measurements, take pix & try on my prebaby clothes. Progress can be measured with tools other than the scale. Remember that.👌🏽

One of my goals is to lose the pregnancy lbs, that I allowed myself to pack on. So best believe I wanna see my numbers on the scale drop. But for me it’s more so how I feel & look opposed to how much a scale says I weigh.

This is awful😫 Better days are ahead. Trust. #blessup If you scroll down my page you will see that I was active for the first half of my pregnancy. It was going pretty good too. I was eating to my liking. My weight gain was steady.

Midway, I made the personal choice to stop putting pressure on myself to have some glorified fitpregnacy. I continued doing the minimal,🚶🏽‍♀️walking. Still eating whatever I desired. Drank my water with lemon/limes. End result. No toxemia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc for me. Just healthy and pleasantly plump 😄🤰🏽😍 (69lb gain after delivery!) #theaftermath 👶🏽💙🙏🏽

To the moms that have the stamina to remain active or who lack cravings, don’t pack on the lbs, etc.. 👏🏽💃🏽 To the moms that are more on chill mode. Craving everything under the sun. That’s got some baggage after baby like myself. You’re just as dope too.🙌🏽😘 Every pregnancy is different. Every woman is different. No woman is better than the next. That’s the beauty in life. We are all unique in our own right as well as our life experiences.

Every mommy has some work to do after baby. Some more or less. Don’t be hard on yourself. You don't have to spend hours at the gym or cook fancy meals. Start small, use what you have and do what you can. Take things from there. And use your kids as motivation. Not as an excuse. I take my 11mo & 7yo to the gym right with me. They go to swim class with daddy while mommy is training, kicking ass. Then after daddy hits up the indoor courts to get it in too. #noExcuses #FamilyFitness

Pregnancy or no pregnancy. I’ve adopted the mindset to lead a healthy life for the rest of my life, no matter what life throws my way. DAY 27✅ #DONE 🤸🏽‍♀️ I began my #postpartum grind the day my doc cleared me at my 6wk check up. And after eating any and everything I pleased🤰🏽... I knew I had my work cut out for me. I was prepared with my plan in hand. Ready than ever to get it in! That very day I began lifting light weights again.

Clean eating has always been a breeze for me. I can control what and how much I consume with ease. Working out tho😫 was extremely uncomfortable. I am never short on motivation. But moving that extra body weight. Pure motivation to keep moving & grind that💩out!💪🏽💦 I persevered and I’m here.

I’m blessed with one helluva work ethic. I couldn’t be happier with my progress. I love the process. It’s a humbling experience full of excitement & growth! Healthy choices, bring a confidence nothing or nobody can break.

And while I may make it look easy. It’s definitely not by any means.🤯 I make a lot of sacrifices that most aren’t willing to make. Bcz if this “losing weight, getting in shape, getting healthy thing” was so easy... Everyone would be doing it. Just like everyone who wears a waist trainer would have a snatched waist.
