Keep Growing Detroit  KGD promotes a food sovereign city where the majority of fruits and vegetables consumed by Detroiters are grown by residents within the city’s limits.

It's officially fall! Time to break out those winter squash recipes.

One of the best things about Wednesdays on the farm in the fall is that we get to work with students from Cass Tech's buildOn Service Learning Program. The school is within walking distance. See you later @ctbuildon!

Did you know that broccoli is a flower? The most delicious flower! #grownindetroit

Coming soon...carrots, lettuce, broccoli, green onions, sweet potatoes 🍠, radishes, fennel, and so much more! #grownindetroit

Twilight at the farm. #keepgrowingdetroit

The #grownindetroit stand at Eastern Market was bursting at the seems with beautiful, seasonal, local produce today. Stop by next Saturday or Tuesday for the next two weeks to say hello and support Detroit's gardeners and farmers!

We had a great time picking apples 🍎 with GRP members today! #keepgrowingdetroit

Alma is the best! She's distributing fresh produce at the Mercado Food Hub in southwest including donated vegetables from Grown in Detroit! #detroitproduceforpantries

A typical week at KGD in early September. We are sending special thanks to all of the volunteers, partners and supporters that make our work possible and meaningful especially FoodLab Detroit (our amazing partner in the #DetroitGrownAndMade campaign); the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter & Friends of the Rouge (our collaborators in the #RainGardensToTheRescue program); and Ten Hens Farm & the Sustainable Resources Alliance (our collaborators in the #SeasonHightunnelEducationInitiative).

Today's hoophouse tour was a big success! Thanks especially to those that hosted stops and to our partners in the Seasonal Hightunnel Education Initiative!

Did you know there are more than 4,000 varieties of potatoes in the world? This year GRP members cultivated 3 types, red Pontiac, white Kennebec, and blue Adirondack 🥔.

Happy to announce that Detroit is home to one more solar passive greenhouse and one step closer to food sovereignty! #keepgrowingdetroit
