How lucky I am to have known someone who was so hard to say goodbye to. And oh man is it really hard.. Tyler was more than a cousin to me, to me he was a best friend, a beach buddy, someone who understood me without having to ask me a single question or hear a word.. he just understood me, and I understood him. Tyler, you were my side kick, my not so mini - mini me and I feel so lost without you. This loss especially hurts because I know Tyler was destined for a truly amazing life, and he would have contributed so much good to this world. He graduated on the deans list at URI, where he successfully tested a more effective method for cultivating cucumbers, and other similar crops, by growing them vertically using a trellis system to better utilize space. He, and a few other project members, grew 10 different varieties of cucumbers, and using only 100 sq-ft he harvested 1500-lbs of marketable cucumbers in just 52 days.. Tyler was a passionate worker, a motivated student, and a genius -especially about plant sciences. I will forever brag about how brilliant and kind my cousin was, and I will forever be proud of him. He concord so much, overcame so much to accomplish everything he had. He was so strong, even through the worst of times he wore a smile. He always put the people he loved first, and I know if this kid was ever boiling with pain and emotion he wouldn't blow, rather he took those emotions and empathized with others. Tyler made it his mission that no one around him would ever feel upset or alone, it was just his nature to care. He inspired me.. he still inspires me. Everyday I will keep you in my memories, and my actions will reflect your words, I love you Tyler. I loved everything you offered to this world. Every time I think of you I'll think of that surreal smile. Tyler Ayan 1995-2017 ❤️

It's great to be successful but are you happy with yourself? Are you happy with who you are? Because that's what matters, you, not your things. ❤️

I had a successful day hiking Mount Mansfield yesterday! Good thing you can still hike with a broken hand! We spent about 6 hours hiking 6 miles, stopping once in awhile to sit and enjoying all he beautiful scenery. We started out on Sunset ridge trail, following it all the way to "Long Trail North" where we hiked up the arctic-alpine zone to the highest point- the "chin"! A little ways past the chin we turned around and headed back to Underhill state park camping area - through the mesmerizing Laura Cowles trail (easier to go up this trail than down 🙈), a trail we didn't quite realize was still closed due to snowed in paths. Tigger really enjoyed being able to go outside on his own and I really enjoyed staying in a cozy chalet tucked away in the mountains. Overall I had a great day being in the mountains and can't wait for more hiking adventures to come this summer❤️💪🏽🌲

Concord grapes, dragon fruit, blackberries, and pineapple for a nutrient packed lunch 💪🏽
Concord grapes 🍇:
#Concordgrapes possess Vitamin C and powerful #antioxidants called polyphenols, which helps keep your immune system healthy. The high concentrations of antioxidants protect our skin, brain and heart from inflammation and aging. These grapes also contain the flavonoid #Resveratrol which decreases blood pressure, decreases the pressure in arteries, and is specifically beneficial in protecting breast tissue from the mutations that can take place in certain #breastcancers. These grapes prevent many degenerative diseases, including #Alzheimer’s and #dementia, and helps keep your brain sharp and your nervous system healthy. These grapes are also a huge immune booster since they increase the production of T-cells in your body.
Source: Chatelaine Dragon fruit:
#Dragonfruit is full of phytonutrients, rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, polyunsaturated (good) fatty acids, and several B vitamins for carbohydrate metabolism, as well as carotene and protein. Calcium is present for strong bones and teeth, iron and phosphorus for healthy blood and tissue formation. Some of the benefits are a strengthened immune system and faster healing of bruises and wounds to fewer respiratory problems. The phytochemical used as a medication to treat heart problems is present in the fruit itself. The seeds are high in #omega3 and #omega6 fatty acids that reduce triglycerides and lower the risk of cardiovascular disorders. Dragon fruit can rid the body of toxic heavy metals and improved eyesight.

*I do not take photo credit. "Every year, starvation claims the lives of over 2.5 million children under the age of five. However, it has been proven that there is enough food on earth to feed every last man, woman, and child. Yet, if this is the case, why do people around the world continue to starve? The answer to that question lies in large part with the production of animal-based foods, such as meat, dairy, and eggs. Even though there are enough plant-based foods grown to feed the entire human population, the majority of crops (including those grown in countries where people are starving) are fed to livestock for affluent nations, and since the amount of animal-based food produced by the farming industry is much less than the amount of plant food put into it, there is a “diminished return on the investment,” the food supply dwindles, and humans end up going hungry." Please people, this year for your New Years resolution try a vegan diet, if you're at all curious about meal ideas, nutritional facts, or anything thing at all message me! If you can't make the vegan change for yourself do it for the world we live in.. help make this world a better place. #vegan #endworldhunger #havecompassion #veganism #newyears #resolution
