As a former varsity athlete & powerlifter, I’ve always had a high muscle mass so my weight wasn’t a good representation of my fitness/health. My BMI has told me I’m overweight since college. Many scales claim to provide fat percentage, but they are usually unreliable. 🏋🏼‍♀️

So, this full body analysis with visual representation and body composition is amazing! I’m so excited to use this to measure my postpartum fitness progress 💪🏼

Right now, I’m at the tippy-top of “normal” body fat, which I’m not upset about considering I recently had a baby and put on baby weight (your body stores 7-10lbs fat for breastfeeding). My goal is to be below 30% at least by the end of the summer! ☀️

My waist was 37.4in (given it wasn’t measured at the smallest point, which is usually recommended). Ideally, your waist should be about HALF of your height, so I am aiming to get below 35in. This reduces your risk of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease ♥️

Encouraging yourself (or others as a trainer or doctor) to lose weight & fat, and decrease circumferences is not about fat-shaming or body-shaming. It is about health and disease-prevention. Body fat is one of the BIGGEST risk factors for basically all diseases that can kill you. 💀

I’m pro-loving your body & BECAUSE of that, working constantly to eat healthily and exercise regularly. I am not a fan of people being complacent and allowing their physical health to be a low priority. 🙏🏼

PS. If you think another person’s weight or health doesn’t affect you, think again! If you have health insurance, especially government-provided health insurance, your health and everyone else’s contribute to premium costs (and federal & state taxes). Managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension can be very expensive, and the sequelae of these common diseases can be even more drastically expensive, and it’s a burden on EVERYONE! Hence, I help others make healthy choices! 👩🏼‍⚕️

Sometimes all I do is throw on the baby carrier and walk up and down the stairs. Sometimes I get on the stationary bike. Sometimes I do planks while we’re doing tummy time. I don’t leave my baby and go to the gym for an hour, but I make it work & I still fit fitness into my life 😉💪🏼

I’ve tried it alone mixed with almond milk, and also with a banana, an activia yogurt, and even a scoop of ice cream. 🍌🍦

The vanilla flavor (with a tiny hint of cinnamon) really is delicious and potent, and the powder blends super well so it’s nice and smooth.

My milk supply has also been doing great, and I haven’t had any more clogged ducts. Also, I don’t know if this is because of the ingredients or because Lily is getting older, but she’s been latching better and eating for longer (rather than pulling off/needing to burp/coughing)! It’s probably a combination, but I’m so happy she’s able to eat more pleasantly 🤱🏼

Got a little dressed up for our combo-anniversary dinner celebrating our engagement, private marriage, & home ownership! In these past 4 years, @randymichaelfitness and I have fallen in love, gotten engaged, gotten married, bought a house, and had a baby (among tonsss of other things) ❤️💍💒🏡👶🏼 to say I am living the dream at 23 is an understatement 😍

I never used to share much about my personal life, especially my religious practices, but I realized that a lot of people look up to me, are inspired by me, or want to live a life like mine, and, although I can give you fitness tips and education tips and relationship tips, the greatest secret that I want to share with you is the love of Jesus Christ. My life used to be a complete mess... I had lots of problems maybe I’ll share about later, but, at around 19 years old, I recommitted myself to God and prayed for His will for me, and, I kid you not, my dreams started coming true. I am the happiest, most fulfilled I have ever been, and I hope you can experience this, too!

Lately, I’ve been spending lots more time at church and other ministries I’m involved in (CMDA, side-by-side, MOPS, chabad), and I’m really focusing on how to be the most Godly mama for my little Lily. A verse that has been on my mind is “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30). ✝️

Health and fitness will always be important to me, and I will instill that in my daughter, but I won’t be hung up on looks alone. I exercise to care for this body God gave me, and I love my body for the beauty it currently has, but I will never forget that my love and fear of the Lord is most important, and raising my kids with that same perspective is my priority. 💪🏼❤️⛪️
