Ok book fans! I really want to read this book and hope you will too. It's a bit intimidating at 543 pages but this it what the New Yorker said about it: "This is narrative nonfiction, lyrical and tragic and fatalist. The story exposes; the story moves; the story ends. What Wilkerson urges, finally, isn't argument at all; it's compassion. Hush and listen."
So what do you all think? Toni Morrison says it's "profound, necessary and an absolute delight to read." And my sister Kiki (sorry Clara) raved about it. So....will you read it with me? How about if we give ourselves until March 31st? I'm excited to read with my smart, thoughtful followers. (Hoping flattery will get me somewhere!) ps. Happy Sunday!
