One of the teachers at teacher training was talking about how we don't know the true reasons of why things happen until later down the road. I believe this to be true especially of this training. I have no clue what lead me to challenge myself in this way but so far I have been inspired greatly by the teachers, challenged physically and mentally, and I've met some amazing people. I don't know what's to come and the true reason of why I'm here doing this but I am going to put all the effort into the things in my life right now to prepare for whatever is to follow. Extend strong in your halfway lift to give way to better poses to follow ✌️💕

Something that has resonated with me from yoga teacher training and has helped me this week is thinking about Patanjalis very first yoga sutra and a talk given by one of the YTT teachers about this sutra in modern day. Atha translates into "now" -- not tomorrow, not soon, but simply now. Not reliving the past or worrying about the future -- being completely in this moment and just be or begin whatever it is you have been wanting to do. Now is as good a time as any, so just be present and begin.

Another helpful tip from teacher training that I've been incorporating into my yoga practice --> You always hear teachers saying "root down through all 4 corners of your feet" but if you're like me you just would think 💭 push down harder. Here's a trick: if you actively lift your toes up it will help you ground down through all edges and increase the activation through your arches. As you lift your toes up root down through your entire foot especially through the mound at the base of the big toe and at the base of the pinky. Think about pulling your shins in towards each other and firm up those legs ✌️

Beach day ☀️ 🌊 ❤️ --- see you soon Long Branch

I just finished week one of my 200 hour teacher training… I've learned so much information that I don't even know what to do with it all. I'm hoping that one day all this information will take me deeper into my practice and help me to become a good yoga teacher... until then I plan to share little tips with you throughout the process. For example, before teacher training I always wondered what arm and leg went on top during eagle pose and if it mattered. I learned this week that to be more stable in eagle you should have opposite arm and leg wraps. So if your right leg is wrapped on top then your right arm should be wrapped under the left 🦅💕✌️

Day 14 and the last day of #summerbumsup is hollow back handstand/ pincha or any inversion of choice… I tried to play around with "hollow back" in headstand and some leg variations. This felt so much more hollow back than it looks 🤦🏼‍♀️ ❤️Hosts:

Day 12 of #summerbumsup is chin stand. Holy 😵... that is way harder than I thought. I picked a picture that wasn't pretty to reflect how un pretty my attempt at that was 🙈 ❤️Hosts:

Day 11 of #summerbumsup is scorpion in handstand. I can't hold my handstand so this wasn't an option for me... instead here's a throw back to me trying to begin to attempt scorpion in head stand during my library days leading up to my boards exam ❤️Hosts:

Day 10 of #summerbumsup is straight up handstand. I can't hold my handstand too long yet so sometimes I like to build strength by holding it against the wall ❤️Hosts:
