Kane Brewing Co. 

Two new beers at the brewery today during our tour and tasting hours from 12-7pm. Digital Sea, our 7.5% IPA brewed with a combination of British Marris Otter and American Two Row as our base, wheat, oats and a small amount of English caramel malt. It’s hopped with a small amount of bittering in the kettle then dry-hopped twice during fermentation and once post fermentation with over 6lbs per barrel of Galaxy, Mosaic and Amarillo.

Secret Mezzanine, our 7.4% IPA brewed with American Two Row, lots of wheat and a small amount of British caramel and hopped in the whirlpool with Simcoe, Chinook and Mosaic then dry hopped with a bunch of Eureka, Chinook and Simcoe. Case limit on both | $18 a four pack.

We have Christian Patrick cans available and will be pouring Bourbon Barrel Aged Christian Partick and 2016 Christian Patrick with Cacao.

Christian Patrick, our 10.9% Imperial Stout will be released at the brewery today for the first time in 16oz cans. Christian Patrick is a big, full bodied imperial stout with deep chocolate and roast flavors that takes on hints of dark fruit as it warms.
We will also have on a tap for samples and pours 2016 bourbon barrel-aged Christian Patrick conditioned on Coconut and a special keg of 2018 Evening Bell conditioned on Coconut and Granola. We’re looking to add a Packaging Manager to our growing production team. This is a full-time position that oversees the packaging department and reports to our Director of Brewing Operations. More information about the position can be found on our website at kanebrewing.com in the career tab.

The brewery is open today from 12-7pm for tours and tastings. We have about 15 cases of Morning Bean and 20 cases of Medovik bottles available. We also about 50 of our 2018 Holiday Teku glasses left. Special Thanksgiving hours begin today. The brewery will be open today from 12-7pm for tours and tastings with some special beers for the holiday.
Malus, our 9.7% Belgian-style dark ale brewed with apple cider and spices will be available at the brewery today in 750ml bottles. Malus was the first beer we packaged in bottles in 2012. We wanted to create an alternative to pumpkin beers so we chose a warm apple cider drink as inspiration. Since we love big dark Belgian-style beers we thought that would be a great base for this beer. We reached out to @deliciousorchards to source some great locally pressed cider that we could boil down and reduce into a syrup to replace the dark candi syrup we typically use. Then we added fall spices and orange zest to the kettle and fermented it with our house Belgian yeast. It’s one of the more unique and interesting beers we make at the brewery and great for this time of year.
Since we’ve been working with Delicious Orchards for the past six years, we decided this year to collaborate on another beer for the holidays. We will also be releasing Donut Shack, our 7.1% IPA inspired by the fantastic apple cider donuts they make. We used Marris Otter malt with some oats and lactose and added apple cider, turbinado and jaggery sugars to the boil. We hopped it with Huell Melon in the whirlpool and dry hopped it with a new hop variety called Sabro. The combination of hops compliment the fruitiness of the apple cider and balance the malt sweetness from the combination of lactose and sugars. Malus: $12 a bottle | case limit. Donut Shack: $18 a four pack | case limit.

Black Friday Beer Release. We are going to be open from 12-8pm on Friday (11/23) for tours and tastings so we might as well release some beer.
On Friday, we will have 500ml bottles of Bourbon Barrel Aged Evening Bell and Double Barrel Evening Bell, 750ml bottles of Morning Bean and 16oz cans of Evening Bell.
Bourbon Barrel Aged Evening Bell is our 11.6% Imperial Milk Porter aged in bourbon barrels for over a year. Double Barrel Evening Bell is our 11.7% Imperial Milk Porter aged in Bourbon Barrels for a year then racked into Maple Syrup barrels to finishing aging. The secondary aging in Maple Syrup barrels adds another layer of flavor and aroma to an already complex beer. Morning Bean is our 9.2% Imperial Milk Porter with @rookcoffee that we conditioned on Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans at a rate of over ½ lb per barrel. Morning Bean is all coffee upfront but the vanilla brings a rounded sweetness and creaminess to the body and balances the roasted, chocolate and coffee flavors of this Imperial Porter. Finally, we have Evening Bell, our 9.2% Imperial Milk Porter available for the first time in 16oz cans.

New Head High retail accounts. We added 20 new retailers to the current list of places that carry Head High cans. As always, these cans are stored cold at our brewery, delivered in our refrigerated trucks, and found only in the cooler section of these stores. The total list of 40 retailers carrying Head High is available on our website at kanebrewing.com.

Medovik, our collaboration with @melovino meadery will be released tomorrow at the brewery during our tour and tasting room hour from 12-7pm. Medovik, is our 9.7% Imperial Stout inspired by the flavors of a traditional Russian honey cake. We used a British Heritage Chevalier malt for the base and added wheat, oats and lactose to a blend of chocolate and coffee malts. We added 200lbs of toasted graham cracker to the mash and over 600lbs of clover honey to the whirlpool. Post fermentation we conditioned it on Madagascan vanilla beans and a small amount of cinnamon. Medovik is a rich, full bodied Imperial Stout highlighting the sweetness of the clover honey and rounded by more subtle notes of vanilla, cinnamon and a hint of graham cracker in the nose—all the flavor you might expect when you hear Russian honey cake. 750ml bottles | 4 bottle limit | $18 a bottle.
We will also be releasing a fresh batch of Blue Hotel. Blue Hotel is our 7.5% IPA brewed with American two row, oats and a small amount of low crystal. Case limit | $18 a four pack.

Extended hours for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday week. We will be open 12-7pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and 12-8pm the Friday after the holiday. Normal weekend hours. Have a great Thanksgiving.

First spontaneous batch cooled overnight and then racked into puncheons. Now we wait.

Just a reminder…we’re having a belated anniversary tap takeover at Nip N Tick tonight (11/15) in Long Branch. Hope to see some of you there.

First spontaneous batch knocked out into the coolship overnight. Brewed with all New Jersey grown Pilsner and raw wheat from @rabbit_hill_malthouse utilizing a traditional turbid mash and a five hour boil with aged whole leaf EKG hops. We’ll be racking into our puncheons later today.
