I’m extremely superstitious. My house is filled with collections of protective charms – antique crosses, good luck charms, and enough salt to make Sam and Dean look like amateurs.
Even though I tour all the time, I’m actually terrified of flying. So some of the #ThingsICarry relate to travel. I never get on a plane without my “flying necklace,” weighed down with religious and protective medals from all over the world. I also carry this coin in my wallet and an awesome toe tag from @melissamarrauthor, which I’m convinced is part of the magic formula that keeps me safe while I’m traveling.
In my new book #BrokenBeautifulHearts, Peyton is reading Tim O’Brien’s novel THE THINGS THEY CARRIED in English class. As part of a class assignment, Peyton and Owen have to bring in things that are meaningful to them – ideally, things they carry all the time.
If you carry something that is meaningful to you, I would love if you would post a pic with #thingsicarry so I can see it.
