Simple and easy is the way to go πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ trying to pile in too many micro nutrients into one meal sounds like a good idea in theory, but in reality think about how hard it is for your body to digest allllll that fiber at once 😡 I use to pile as many veggies, grains, and/or legumes into one meal as I could and that was way too hard on my stomach. All of these things are great for you separately, but too much of anything isn't always good. My focus right now for each meal is to pick 1 protein, 1-2 veggies, and some sort of fat. (Fats keep you full πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ) This is the perfect example: 1 egg, smoked salmon, greens, and a coconut flour tortilla. I notice I feel satisfied but not bloated or sluggish after this meal πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ it's all about learning from experience! Try things out, see how you feel, be in tune with your body βœŒπŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ#KonvosWithKristin

I love a fun and creative breakfast as much as the next foodie, but I crave simplicity too! Especially in the form of PB, banana, and toast. The daily smoothie bowl comin at chu πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ y'all already know the drill here, and you're probably tired of seeing this πŸ™ˆ but this time I crumbled some no bake cinnamon bun cookies I made on top and it was PERFECTION πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ recipe from @thebigmansworld 😊 I used my @nutbutternation traditional PB for the cookies and they came out so so delish 🀀 may not be the prettiest, but they sure taste bomb! Everything here is SIBO approved cause today is day #1 of herbal antibiotics and sibo specific fodmap diet (that's a mouthful) πŸ™ˆ but I ain't worried because there's plenty of delish food I'll be eating πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ PVO (positive vibes only) on this Tuesday ✌🏼

Having healthy snacks and sweet treats on hand are so essential for me! One of the main reasons is because I know exactly everything that's in them bc I made them πŸ’πŸ»Also, while I prepare to change my diet due to my SIBO, I've been baking up a storm so I have some trustworthy recipes I know I can eat! These cookies from @addicted_to_lovely are extremely SIBO friendly and super fluffy 😍 .

Side note, I discovered Christina from @addicted_to_lovely by listening to her podcast 'actually adultish' which is extremely raw, real, and a great listen! She also struggles with a lot of digestion issues and I've learned so much through her page! But in short it's been a little over week since starting the antibiotics and I don't want to jinx anything πŸ™ˆ but seriously my symptoms have been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced! There's this little health store + juice bar right next to my gym that I always overlook πŸ™ˆ I've popped in for a juice here and there and it's always amazing! Today I decided I really wanted to try one of their smoothies after my workout and holy goodness this was gone in the blink of an eye!! It reminded me of the importance to shop local and support smaller businesses! It's so easy to always go to the chains or more popular places, but then you miss out on the amazing hole-in-the-walk shops! So today's #KonvosWithKristin is just about looking around your local town and giving it some love. #shopsmall because I personally find those local stores to have the best products and customer service πŸ˜‹

#KonvosWithKristin πŸ‘‰πŸΌ today I wanted to touch on something that's been on my mind for awhile. A lot of people put a bad label on cardio but I think it's an extremely important part of exercise! It's great for your heart and lungs, reducing stress, weight loss, and many more benefits. I think a mix of cardio and weights is the formula for success. If you hate the treadmill try incorporating hiit into your lifts or find something that works for you! I run for 20 min before each of my workouts, incorporate hiit into my lifts, and on days I don't run, I spin. I thoroughly enjoy each of these things and personally will not be eliminating cardio from my fitness routine any time soon!

Today's #KonvosWithKristin (S/O to @fitstrongshann for that hashtag idea lol)πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Starting to change your diet and eat healthier can be intimidating at first. Instead of going in full force, my biggest tip is to start small. Here's an example πŸ™‚ my mom used to eat a chewy bar for breakfast every morning. Being the loving daughter I am I had to save her from that chemical filled bar (πŸ˜‰) so I went to the store, read the ingredients on a bunch of different bars, and chose one with much simpler ingredients but the same flavor. Would a green smoothie be better? Yeah sure, but guess what, just making that small transition and being aware of the ingredients in one product will make you think again about the other foods you pick up. So y'all, start making ✨small changes✨ and you will soon see how much all those small changes add up!

Who else has spent an exhausting amount of time justifying their eating habits to others πŸ™‹πŸ»πŸ™‹πŸ» well, recently I realized I was justifying them to myself. Everyday on the internet I'm surrounded by opinions that cause me to question and re-evaluate my habits. But I've realized I know what works for me and what I like and as my account grows I want to share what's important to me.
So hi, I'm Kristin and I like whole foods with minimal ingredients and processing. I don't use BCAAs or pre-workout anymore because I can't read half the ingredients on the label. I only buy PB that has 1 ingredient (hint: it's peanuts). I don't count calories or macros. I'm learning to limit my protein powder use and read their labels more too. I want to be an educated consumer and help you get educated too. This way, whatever decision you make, you truly know what you're doing and not just following a fad.
