European shag showing off his fine mating season feathers in northern Norway last April

I met this beutiful female leopard for the first time last fall in Serengeti, Tanzania. She was calm and looked well-fed. This spring I saw her again in Feb and March and she was with cubs! I didn't know she was the same individual until I compared my pics of her so I could see that all the dots were in same place.
Can't wait to see her again this fall, I hope the little ones are doing well too 🐾

Have a great week everyone! 🐧

Male crowned lemur was making calls to attrack some females. He climbed quite high on top of the tree and literally started screaming. After some unsuccesful efforts he finally managed to lure one of the females to his tree.
These primates are endemic to Madagascar and face enormous threats due to the forestry. Did you know that in Madagascar 90 % of the rainforest that once existed has now been cutted down? Many of the endemic primates have already been extinct and the remaining species are constantly under the threat.

Dinner time! Golden eagle in Kuusamo last winter. There are a lot of possibilities in Finland to photograph eagles from hides. These birds are mostly too shy to photograph without a hide so I can highly recommend that! If you want to try to catch beautiful pink sky in the backround you should visit in January.

The bear season is on again here in Finland, are you planning to visit this year? 🐻

Past winter I spent some time at the Arctic ocean photographing birds. Snowy conditions create cool backrounds to these photographs.

Sometimes the forest can create perfect settings for a portrait

Parenting isn't always easy when your cubs are out of control! This lioness was acting surprisingly calm as her 3 cubs were attacking her for over half an hour.
Have a great weekend everyone! 🦁

Back home from a good trip to Botswana! On our last morning in Savuti we even encountered a cheetah which no one had seen for a couple of months because of past the rain season.

Back at the Falls! After a while it feels good to be back here. Tomorrow we will do landscape photography with my #kuvausmatkat group about the massive water falls in Zimbabwe and also in Zambian side of the river.
Few years ago I jumped off the Victoria Falls bridge, pretty terrifying I must say! (Not doing that again.. 😅)

Black-backed jackal in the morning light at Serengeti, Tanzania. This one walked in front of our car for quite a long way, it was really great to follow behind him and get nice backlight shots.
Tomorrow I will arrive Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and the upcoming 2 weeks will be intensive photographing there and in Zambia/Botswana. I will post pictures from that trip later. Have a great weekend everyone! 🐾
