Jynt (books open😜)  WORK: @meiwahtattoo (Kowloon, HK🇬🇸) ✈️ TRAVEL: Singapore🇸🇬Jun, Kuala Lumpur🇲🇾Jul, Fukuoka🇯🇵Oct/Nov ✉️ CONTACT: kowloonink@gmail.com (no DM!)

Here's a digital mock up for a forearm idea that unfortunately, due to the client leaving Asia, never saw the light of day.

I would LOVE to do this or something similar, ideally a sleeve but I'm game for smaller areas too. Let's talk! 🙏

Here's a simple little number I had the pleasure of doing on Cristian from Barcelona, to commemorate his travels through southern China.

Despite what I post on here these days, I still book myself in (and enjoy) smaller one shot tattoos in a variety of styles.

Had some good conversations recently with tattooers who've been in the game for at least a couple of decades. The general consensus is that these days there's too much emphasis on tattooers having a specific style or focus early on in their journey, with many lacking a strong foundation in the basics to handle day to day street shop walk-ins.

Perhaps it's the way things are now, but I do see a time when the trend will revert back to the classics, and people simply wanting tattoos that look like tattoos.

But anyway, don't be afraid to hit me up for tattoos of any style or size. If I think it'll look good on you in twenty year's time, I'll be more than happy to do it 💪

Anna is here this week and still has 2-3 days left open. DM or email kowloonink@gmail.com ASAP for details 👌

Quick little second session on @iirisyung's back, just to get all the major lines in.

Would've loved to have made more progress with this session, but it's not always easy picking up again less than a week later.

Catch her next weekend with @joewutattoo & @tatdooisa at the @inkandcutzconvention in Groningen, NL where she will have plenty of flash and hand drawn tote bags to choose from.

And hopefully when she returns from Europe we will have a nice long session to get all the solid black down 💪🏿

A few days ago I had the incredible honour of starting out on the back of my apprentice @iirisyung. She had approached me with no particular idea or concept in mind, other than simply asking me to tattoo her back. True Japanese irezumi way!

With this immense opportunity (and responsibility), I played around with a few different images and layouts, based on the placement, her contours, my own aesthetics, and also what I could sense from her character and personality.

In the end, the image and symbolisms behind the Green Tara seemed like an ideal fit, and thankfully she was down with it. A lot of the topics that arose in @gogueart's surrender film definitely came to mind, and we had a very long and intense session going through the lines.

There's still a good 15-20% left, which we will continue later this week, but I think we are off to a good start, and I'm beyond thankful to Iris for asking me to be a part of this journey.

Fun little souvenir tattoo for my homie @jubscontraseptik, Chinese noodle soup with Osho and Weng Weng meatballs based on running jokes developed between us and @ritualvoodoo @darkbabamaina during the time in HK.

No pressure at all doing this on a guy known for crazy colour work, and in the armpit of all places! He's promised me another 15 minutes to dial some details in and then we should be golden.

Thank you for all the laughs and memories Jubsssss. See you in Autumn! 🙏❤️🙏

Had the utmost pleasure of tattooing Shoko from Japan, who gave me creative reign over the tattoo design, and was familiar enough with my work to know what to ask for.

I tried my best to come up with something that would compliment her existing tattoos on the other foot, so that they would look well together despite the differences in style.

She also sat through the entire process without flinching once, which my job a whole lot easier.

Clients like her are hard to come by, and I'm deeply grateful. どもありがとうございます! See you in Fukuoka! 🙏

Wynn came to me about 2.5 years ago for her first tattoo - the blossoms going from her shoulder over to her chest. A few months later, we added a pair of matching branches to her wrist.

This time last year she decided to extend her shoulder branch down into the half sleeve region, with the loose concept of having birds. And later in the same year we worked on a remembrance half sleeve on her right arm.

At the start of this year she decided to take the plunge into tattooing her forearm as well, which was completed a few days ago.

I don't think she ever imagined 2.5 years ago that she would get this far with her tattoos, but I'm glad that she's decided to take this path, and honoured to assist her with the journey.

Thank you Wynn for all the wonderful sessions, and always sitting so well. Happy pre-Birthday!!! 🙏❤️🙏

Been looking forward to this one for a couple of months. Josh finally managed to find the time to come by and get his Sun Wukong (Monkey King) tattooed.

The cranes in the background are based off of a painting that hangs at this father's house.

It was an honour to do this tattoo right next to a gorgeous koi by @ronstagram, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the Rites of Passage Festival in Melbourne six years ago.

He was getting his sleeve started on by @shige_yellowblaze, just as I was having my first session with @gogueart. Good times 🙏❤️🙏

A second (shorter) session on my dear brother @artofalvin, finishing up the collar from last time, as well as getting started on the throat.

Probably didn't help that he was all sunburnt from Bali, but I'm mighty proud he still managed to persevere and make it through all the lines.

Next session will most likely be in Singapore in June, followed by another in KL in July. Deeply thankful for his trust, dedication, and most importantly, friendship.

Have a safe journey home bro. Until next time 🙏❤️🙏

Had the pleasure of making this HK souvenir jammer on Sebastian from Chicago, who has an epic side panel from the mighty Gakkin, as well as a few others from one of my all time faves Tim Biedron. Thank you Sebastian for the honour! Safe travels 🙏

Had a most enjoyable Sunday getting started on @cheryl.lo's sleeve, working around an existing swallow and red line around the wrist.

For me, one of the most enjoyable aspect of larger scale projects is being able to see the same client on a regular basis, and to be able to spend a substantial amount of time with each session. This relationship aspect of the tattoo process is sadly often times missed out on with tiny one shot pieces, even if I enjoy them just as much.

Thank you @cheryl.lo for the immense trust and for not flinching once. It's amazing how much of a transformation can take place simply by getting the arm outlined. I can't wait for the next session 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you also to the recent emails from people who've been noticing the shift in my work and the direction I'm hoping to take my tattoos. Your interest and appreciation means the world to me. I look forward to tattooing each and every one of you!
