“I have fat, I have cellulite (in my case also lipedema), I have an uneven skin, I have stretch marks but I AM none of these things. They don’t define me & they don’t make me think any less of myself”. Love these words from @aylish_rutherford because they describe exactly how it is and how we should think🙌🏼”

I just wanted to keep this post short and tell you girls that there’s nothing wrong with having those things, they’re just normal and a part of us women🙋🏼‍♀️ It’s so easy to get caught up in wanting the “perfect” smooth Instagram body, that we forget that it’s something impossible to achieve☝🏼And we often forget that those “perfect” bodies doesn’t even look like that in real life! ”

Please remember things like cellulite are completely normal and nothing to be ashamed for having!! So please don’t compare yourself to a “perfect” Instagram body. Love and accept yourself just the way you are, you’re beautiful!💕💕

Here I am first thing in the AM vs. post full-day of feeding my body ☺️ Our bodies are NOT meant to stay the same throughout the day or even throughout our lives.
It breaks my heart when I see the media advertising new moms to get their “pre-baby body back” or when my coaching clients say to me, “I wish I looked like how I did in college.” 💔
When we compare our bodies to the one’s we had in the past, we’re disregarding all the ways we’ve grown and developed in those different phases of our lives:
- The weight gained in high school was necessary for your hormonal development as you transitioned into womanhood.
- The extra pounds from college came with those crazy how-did-i-even-survive memories and late-night study sessions accompanied by pizza 😋
- The weight gained during pregnancy was followed by birthing a beautiful miracle into this world 😍 Please don’t disregard the amazingness your body is capable of!!!🙏
Instead of trying to get your old body back, I invite you to focus on the new, more-evolved version of YOU and let your body accompany who you are NOW. 🙌
And know that it’s natural and normal for your body to change. ♥️

Always trust the process 💪🏼 Sometimes weeks would go by and I would feel exhausted, defeated, and not see a single change in my body. They key to living a happy and healthy lifestyle is consistency. Never give up & never stop believing in YOU!️️

I currently have over 100 unanswered DMs sitting in my “request” inbox and most of them are from (young) girls and women saying:
“I hate the way I look and it consumes my life every single day.”
Why is hating our body so mainstream, like, almost expected from us?
Why is it such a crime to actually be chill with the body you have and just let it do it’s thing while you take care of it as best you can?
I want to give you a little comfort and encouragement today if you’re having a rough body image day:
1. I don’t love my body every single day but I have come to love and appreciate what my body does for me every day and that helps a TON. So, even if I get comments like “eww gross!” I don’t care.
2. I happen to know how to pose in a way that makes my body look smaller AND I always include the “real life” version of my body in the same picture, BECAUSE I want you to stop hating your body for not looking like an Instagram body on your explore page. 😘
3. My body is a recovered body, but every recovered body looks different!
Some bodies look exactly like mine, others are smaller, others are larger. And you know what?
IT DOESN’T MATTER 🤗
What does matter is that our bodies are well-fed, happy and healthy.
4. Our bodies fluctuate and change every single day and once you let go of obsessing over your body, you won’t even notice these things anymore, because you will be WAY TOO BUSY living and enjoying your life!
5. Do not compare my posed photo to your real-life body.
Do not compare my rolls to your rolls.
In fact, don’t compare ANY body to your body.
Your body is a masterpiece and its uniqueness is your superpower! 🤗❤️

Here is your humpday reality check! 🐫
.
Scrolling through your feed and you see the “perfect” body that, that woman who “got it from that ONE exercise”, or that “ONE supplement” - when in reality it could possibly be better lighting, a different pose, different outfits, etc! YES - I post my real transformations - and I’m all for sharing your WINS (I do it weekly haha) - but stay true to yourself while doing it, and be cautious of others’ posts! Know that real transformations take time, proper nutrition, and proper training! 💗💪🏼

While there are 3 years separating the first and fourth photo, I've been on this fitness journey for two whole years now. It's made me realise that working out will always be a priority for me no matter what. Over the journey my goals have changed, my strategies have changed, I've chopped and changed the programs I follow more times than I can count, I've tracked macros, I've not tracked macros, I've adopted intuitive eating and I've also dabbled with intermittent fasting. And with all that, it would appear I'm back to square one 🤣

But in all seriousness, my focus these days is to keep my workouts simple so that I actually enjoy them, learning that concept of 'eating to live' a little better (and not the other way around 🙄) and to love where I'm at no matter how I look ✨

REALITY CHECK❗️ ✖️bloated vs posing ✖️no one is perfect, I have stretch marks from carrying a baba for 42 weeks, a little tummy pouch from a emergency c section, I have eczema from stress on my stomach and spend most of my time looking like the picture of the left! No awful teas that promise the world can fix this, humans just get bloated! It's totally normal and fine to look like this. Stop thinking everyone on Instagram looks like how they do in pictures 24/7 because 98% of the time they've taken 100 pictures and picked the best one to upload. Stop being so harsh on your bodies. You're gorgeous and perfect with your imperfections, a bloated belly or while you're posing looking your best. Self love is the most important thing to give yourself so stop fighting it ❤️

Unlike a lot of people, my goal wasn’t to lose weight. I just wanted to “tone up” after 2 kids. So I ate healthier foods and worked out. Day by day some fat disappeared and some muscle appeared and now I’m happier with my body’s appearance and abilities than ever in the previous 41 years. Seriously, if nothing aesthetically changes after today I’ll still feel really satisfied with what I’ve accomplished. Although if Mother Nature wants to take the last remaining cellulite I have I certainly won’t fight her over it. But if you touch these abs darling I WILL CUT YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE OFF.

Swipe 👉🏾 #transformationday .. Weight loss gummies, appetite suppressing lollipops, weightlosss tea and crash diets didn’t get me to the point I’m at now. Simple healthy eating and lifting weights helped me burn fat and build muscle 💪🏾 do not waste your money on these quick fixes they are all SCAMS!! They profit from you failing because if you fail then you have to buy more 🤷🏽‍♀️ i will admit I tried and even shared the start of a detox no bloating cleanse last year but after the 30 days i was more bloated and in real PAIN!! 💩 These things are not good for your body and do more damage than good (trust me I will never go anywhere near a “detox” tea again in my life). Please stop buying into false promises even if it’s your favourite celeb/Instagram girl promoting it because 9 times out of 10 if she’s really into fitness/health there’s no way in hell she eats or drinks any of this crap because it doesn’t work!!!! Make healthier choices in the meals you eat and try to be as active as possible. You will see results 🙌🏾 hard work always pays off and slow progress is better than no progress. Don’t hurt your body just to speed things up because it will happen in the end anyway, take care of yourself, eat real food don’t starve yourself and don’t feed money into a system begging for you to fail ❤️

There’s nothing wrong with falling off a healthy wagon. You dust yourself off, pick yourself up and get on with it. Both pics were taken when I was highly active, but it’s the nutrition which makes all the difference. Make healthy choices 70-80% of the time and you’ll feel so much better... 💪🏻
