When your daughter moves to Ibiza but leaves all her cool stuff behind 😍😍. This lamp might have made its way down from her room to the lounge 😆😆

Is there anything better than lazy Sunday mornings? I’m having a slow start working through some emails and thinking up new ideas. My current obsession is the Extinct range by @emmajshipley I’m thinking how good would it look on vintage cinema seats? But how would you choose which colourway... maybe I should do a set of each 🤷🏻‍♀️. Which colour is your favourite?

So pleased that my vintage velvet chair has found a new home and it will be winging its way to Dublin, to be enjoyed for many years to come 😊💙💙. In other news I’ve had new stock delivered tonight so I’ll be photographing that over the weekend and getting it up on the website asap 👩🏻‍🎤👩🏻‍🎤

How weird was the weather today. I got absolutely drenched on the dog walk first thing, by mid morning the rain was literally coming in sideways but by the time I got to the studio there was bright sunshine. I loved how it was throwing patterns against the white bricks, so pretty. I just set this shot up, arranging, rearranging, faffing, went to shout it and the builder outside went up his ladder outside the window making more shadows 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️. I got there in the end and new items are now are on the website ⚡️ .

I’ve added my vintage architects drawing board to the website. I covered it in white vinyl when I had it in my studio but this has now been removed and it is now back in original state (swipey swipey to see). This is a really unusual example and much nicer than others I’ve seen. Would make a great wedding or styling prop or in a working studio used for what it was made for.

I’ve been thinking long and hard recently (to the point it’s made my brain hurt 😅) about where Joyful company is headed. One thing that I really wanted to encourage and support is REAL LIFE interiors. Whilst my favourite thing to do is browse through beautiful homes on Instagram, I often crave seeing homes that are well, normal. I love a gorgeous home but I know the majority of us trying to do up our homes or bring a little joy into them don’t have an endless supply of money nor do we have anyone sending us freebies, not even a sample pot of paint so today we launch #thisisnotgifted .... because it proper made me chuckle and it will give us a chance to share some real life interior inspiration.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing as many of my followers who join in as I can, so let’s not take life too seriously and enjoy the 🏡 we live in.

A little throw back to the time I was hanging out with Barry, looking remarkably similar to him 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤣. I have one Barry in stock if you’d like to adopt him.

Just doing my thing 🤣🤣🤷🏻‍♀️. If you want to come and hang out in my studio and talk fabrics or wallpapers, we’re located in Writtle just outside Chelmsford. Just drop me a message or an email to book in. Big thanks to @kirstens_captures for the photos 😘 and @studio_twentyseven for the being an ace hand model 🤣🤣

Let me tell you the one thing the world does not need.... another interior # 🤣🤣 So with this in mind guess what I’m considering, yep a new # 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m busy working away to come up with a fresh concept that you’ll all fancy getting involved with, something to spread the joy. Do you still like taking part in these things or are you a bit over it? Do you do it for the prize or the glory 😜?? Any thoughts welcome ⚡️⚡️

How to style pink on pink from the gorgeous @nimsalon ⬅️📸. Slightly deeper rose pink on the glossy floor through to the palest blush on the chandeliers 💕💕

When your a business account it’s difficult posting captions as I want to tell my stories but I’ve always got to keep in mind how this affects how my business is perceived. I want to say I spent £10,000 learning upholstery and nearly two years on I’m still not earning a proper wage from it but is that too negative to say?? I know I’m better giving out the illusion I’m really busy but that’s not been the case. With hindsight perhaps such a large investment in learning wasn’t my best decision but I thought it was a good idea at the time. Why is it easy to see when it’s other people’s businesses what they need to do but so impossible when it’s our own? Deep thoughts for a Tuesday evening 😜😆😆

A little look back to the egg chair that I upholstered when I was learning the trade. It’s the one chair I decided to keep as I loved everything about it, but let me tell you they’re a buggar to do, lots of stretching to get over those curves and then all hand stitching into place. 😬😬
