🤽‍♀️Here's how to perform this Shoulder Internal Rotation Stretch

1️⃣ Sit on the ground.
2️⃣ Place one arm on the lower back with palm facing out. Shoulder pulled back.
3️⃣ Reach across the body with the other arm
4️⃣ Grab the elbow.
5️⃣ Pull the elbow slightly towards the center of the body.
6️⃣ Try to prevent the shoulder to "roll" forward.
7️⃣ Take some deep and slow belly breaths.
8️⃣ Hold for up to a minute.

How to perform the Rhomboid Release!
-
1️⃣ Find a wall and place the ball on the inside part of the shoulder blade.
2️⃣ Make sure to find a good spot that makes you go 😩
3️⃣ Bend your elbow
4️⃣ Lean slightly towards the side where the ball is.
5️⃣ Lift your arm up and across your body until you can't reach any further. Use the other arm to assist you to really stretch out the muscle.
6️⃣ Make sure you don't rotate the upper body. Just move the arms across the body. Don't let the ball flip over the muscle.
7️⃣ Move the ball to a new spot and repeat🙌🏻

🍋 Here's how to perform this pec stretch!

🍉 Again, a full-length foam roller is ideal!

1️⃣ Place the foam roller on the ground.
2️⃣ Lay on the foam roller with the roller lined up with the spine.
3️⃣ Make sure the head can relax on the foam roller.
4️⃣ Flatten the lower back (engage the abs)
5️⃣ Tuck the chin
6️⃣ Bring arms to the side with them bent
7️⃣ Elbow will be lined up arounf shoulder level
8️⃣ Try to breathe into the belly
9️⃣ Hang out and take 10 deep belly breathes per set!

How to perform the TRAPS Release👇👇

1️⃣ Grab a 🎾 or lacrosse ball!
2️⃣ Pick which trap you will be doing first and place that arm behind your back!
3️⃣ Find a doorway or end of a wall!
4️⃣ Bend over and place the ball on your trap and press into the wall until you get to the pressure you desire!
5️⃣ While you maintain pressure into the ball, flex your head to the side. Think bringing your 👂🏼 to your shoulder!
6️⃣ Repeat!

Kneeling on your hands and knees pelvic tilts (quadruped pelvic tilts)

🍋We're doing a variation of the cat and cow pose. I'm doing something called segmental cat/cow where I try and tilt my pelvis first and then move into a cat/cow pose. Almost like I'm trying to do "the wave" with my spine. I then reverse the move by tucking my chin and then my pelvis. (There's a post on it in my profile if you want a refresher!)

🌮Holding onto something, again, decreases the stability demands but gets us closer to performing a standing pelvic tilt. If you can perform this, then you're on your way to better pelvic control aka humping!

🍎Ok, technically it's called the Pelvic Tilt Test, but essentially you're humping. All joking aside, having the ability to move into extension, flexion and back to a neutral position is critical in the prevention of back pain.

🍍Here's how to Perform the Pelvic Tilt Test

👉Optional - Stare at someone while performing the assessment
1️⃣ Stand up
2️⃣ Bring the feet shoulder width
3️⃣ Hinge at the hips and bend over slightly
4️⃣ Place your hands over your shoulders (I used one hand to pull on my shirt so you could see my Low Back)
5️⃣ Begin with a flat (neutral) back
6️⃣ Without moving the shoulders and knees too much
7️⃣ Create an arch in the low back (anterior tilt)
8️⃣Then Tuck the pelvis under (posterior tilt)
👉Imagine you have a belt buckle on, and first, you want it to point down, and then you want it to point up!
9️⃣ Return to a neutral position

🍍Here's one of my favorite stretches to do to open up my low back muscle the QL and up into my lats! Hold this stretch up to 2-minutes and feel 2x times better when you finish!

2️⃣ Bend one leg and place that foot on the inner thigh of the other leg.
3️⃣ Keep the other leg straight.
4️⃣ Sit up nice and tall.
5️⃣ Rotate upper body so it is in-line with the leg that is straight.

How To Make a Mobility “Peanut” [tutorial]

Here was my attempt at a DIY vid and a little reminder that sometimes two balls are better than one for mobilizing the spine. Here's a refresher on how to make a peanut👇

☝️️The “Peanut” is one of my favorite things to mobilize the thoracic spine, and the best thing is that you can make it for around $5 or free if you already have the materials! There are some great products out there, but I don’t think you can’t beat the price and effectiveness of the good ole’ Tennis Ball.

👉 If you don’t know what to do with the “Peanut”, don’t worry I’ll be going over some tips on mobilizing the t-spine with it. So make sure you have one ready!

💪 Here’s How To Make the “Peanut.”

⚒Materials
(2) Tennis Balls 🎾🎾
Tape
*I like using athletic tape, but many use duct tape as well
-
1️⃣ Rip off a good size piece of tape and wrap it around the two tennis balls.
2️⃣The balls won’t be that secure with one wrap of the tape so👇
3️⃣ Rip off another good size piece of tape and wrap it again!
4️⃣ You can repeat this step as many times as you want and the last step👇
5️⃣ Rip off a smaller piece of tape and tighten the middle by wrapping the middle!
