PEC RELEASE!!! [pec minor]

Here's a pec minor release I came up with to help loosen up that pec after chest day aka Monday😄
-
To perform this soft-tissue release
1️⃣ Grab a 🎾 or lacrosse ball!
2️⃣ Find a wall or a doorway you can lean against and be able to reach one arm in front of you!
3️⃣ Place the ball on the pec minor and lean into the wall
💥Couple important 🔑 from this point on
4️⃣ Reach your arm down at about a 45-degree angle and feel like you're reaching and trying to pick something off the ground. This is going to put your shoulder in protraction which is important in this release!
5️⃣ Now your arm is in an excellent position make sure you're putting enough pressure on the ball. I do this by taking a couple of steps back and leaning in and letting all my weight into the wall.
6️⃣ Now drive your elbow up and back. Imagine someone is behind you and you're trying to hit them with your elbow😂

Pec Stretch, You've NEVER Seen!

☝️Ok, so I've never seen this stretch performed like this with a band. So I'm claiming it as a @joetherapy ORIGINAL! It can be a little tricky to get into, but it feels AMAZING when you set it up just perfect! Make sure to give it a try!

Here's How To Perform This Stretch Pec Stretch!
-
👉You will need a medium resistance band! Pick one up online or at a local sporting goods store!
1️⃣Anchor the band, so it's around shoulder height if you were to kneel.
2️⃣Kneel on both knees.
3️⃣Raise your arms overhead and place the band just below the elbows.
4️⃣Bend the elbows, so the band is on the back of the head.
☝️This is a little tricky to get it into a comfortable spot.
5️⃣Move away from the anchor point to get a stretch on the pecs!

Your QL muscle (quadratus lumborum) can cause you all sorts of back pain and refer pain into your hip and glutes. Having a tight QL can mean frustrating back pain that can cause way too much trouble😡

What does the Quadratus Lumborum muscle do?
-
It's located from the top of your pelvis and attaches on to the bottom rib and the side of your spine. It helps you extend backwards, bend to the side, bend forwards and can help in breathing! The QL can also refer pain into the butt and side of the hip!

Symptoms of QL Dysfunction!
👉 Deep, aching in the low back, often worse in sitting or standing
👉 Pain with coughing and sneezing
👉 Pain rolling to either side when lying on your back
👉 Pain can refer to the groin and mimic sciatica symptoms
👉 You may have one side of your pelvis lifted higher than the other

HERE'S HOW TO PERFORM THE QL RELEASE!
💥 I have my trusty golf club again, but you can use the handle of anything!
1️⃣ Grab your weapon of choice for this Release!
2️⃣ Pin it somewhere it won't move too much!
I pinned my golf club on the window sill, and it's the perfect height!
💥 Finding the QL
If you read the description above, we know that the QL is on between the bottom rib and top of the pelvis and it's on the side of the spine!
3️⃣ Now that we know where it is! We want to go into the QL at about a 45-degree angle. Not right from the side or back but at an angle! Place the end of the stick on the QL at a 45-degree angle!
4️⃣ Side Bend towards the stick!
5️⃣ Put pressure into the QL with the stick!
6️⃣ Now side bend in the other direction and reach your arm up and over!
7️⃣ Repeat!

Here's how to perform this adductor stretch!

1️⃣Find something to place your leg on.
2️⃣Put the inside leg on the table and point the toes forward.
3️⃣Push your hip back and bend the knee just like you would when sitting in a chair.

Here was my attempt at a DIY vid and a little reminder that sometimes two balls are better than one for mobilizing the spine. Here's a refresher on how to make a peanut👇

☝️️The “Peanut” is one of my favorite things to mobilize the thoracic spine, and the best thing is that you can make it for around $5 or free if you already have the materials! There are some great products out there, but I don’t think you can’t beat the price and effectiveness of the good ole’ Tennis Ball.

👉 If you don’t know what to do with the “Peanut”, don’t worry I’ll be going over some tips on mobilizing the spine with it. So make sure you have one ready!

💪 Here’s How To Make the “Peanut.”

⚒Materials
(2) Tennis Balls 🎾🎾
Tape
*I like using athletic tape, but many use duct tape as well
-
1️⃣ Rip off a good size piece of tape and wrap it around the two tennis balls.
2️⃣The balls won’t be that secure with one wrap of the tape so👇
3️⃣ Rip off another good size piece of tape and wrap it again!
4️⃣ You can repeat this step as many times as you want and the last step👇
5️⃣ Rip off a smaller piece of tape and tighten the middle by wrapping the middle!

🙂Here's a great stretch that’s a combo of the Frog Stretch and “threading the needle,” and it's great for stretching out
1️⃣Shoulders
2️⃣Arms
3️⃣Back
4️⃣Neck
5️⃣Hips
6️⃣Inner Thighs
and improving rotation in the back!

😋Here's how to perform this stretch!

1️⃣Start on all fours.
2️⃣Place the knees wider than hip-width.
3️⃣Flex the foot with the toes pointing out.
4️⃣Keep a straight back throughout the whole stretch.
5️⃣Push and sink hips back.
6️⃣With one arm rotate and reach to the sky.
7️⃣Then reach under and across the body.
8️⃣Bend the opposite arm
9️⃣Rest the shoulder and side of the head on the ground.

5️⃣ While you are pressing down on the ball extend the toes!
6️⃣Repeat!
