Julian Mckenzie will be our panel moderator at the JMSM Overtime Conference!
Julian McKenzie is a freelance weather presenter and news reporter for CTV Montreal. He is also a freelance sports journalist with bylines in the Montreal Gazette, the American Hockey League, and the Sporting News. Julian is also a co-host of The Scrum Podcast, a show that analyzes and criticizes the Canadian sports media landscape.
We are looking forward to having Julian back at our conference!

Claudia Richard, Digital Content and Social Media Manager for the Rocket de Laval, is coming to the JMSM Overtime Conference!
A Concordia graduate, with a Bachelors of sociology and Certificate in Public Relations, Claudia Richard has been the Manager of Digital content and Social Media since January 2017. A seasoned veteran in the industry, she has worked for MAtv as a columnist as well as at RDS as a reporter for the popular show Generation Soccer.tv. After being the director of communication for the Terrebonne Cobras of the LHJAAAQ for approximately two year, she took her talents to Laval, to pursue her career.

Chris Fry, managing director of communications and digital media for the PGA of Canada, is coming to JMSM Overtime Conference!

Chris has been with the second oldest and third largest PGA in the world since 2011. In his currently role, he has developed, implemented and monitored a multi-faceted strategic communications and digital media plan, growing the brand exponentially.

His professional goal is simple: create content across a myriad of platforms that is not only impactful and relevant, but also authentic.

Photi Sotiropoulos, Director of Communications and Media Relations for the Canadian Olympic Committee(COC) is our 3rd speaker at the JMSM Overtime Conference!
Sotiropoulos, a Montreal native, provides overall direction, management and a strategic view for all COC communication activities, both inerantlly and externally. He is a key corporate spokesperson and is responsible for managing its brand message. He plays a key role in driving communications strategies with its stakeholders and partner groups:athletes, National Sports Federation’s (NSF’s), Organizing Committees, Sport Canada, broadcast and business partners. He manages the COC communications team and is the lead communications representative at the Olympic Games.

Will Carafello, Sr.Director of Social Media for the New York Mets, is speaking at the JMSM Overtime Conference!

Will Carafello oversees all of the team’s social content. Before that he was Director of Social Media and Marketing for the New Jersey Devils, including their launch of Mission Control--the team’s social media command center. Carafello has been in the sports and entertainment field for over 10 years working at Madison Square Garden, the Harlem Globetrotters, IZOD Center/Giants Stadium and Prudential Center.

Shauna Denis, Director of Content Strategy for the Canadiens de Montréal, is coming to the JMSM Overtime Conference!
Shauna has been with the Canadiens since July 2008. In her current role of Director, Content Strategy, she oversees the editorial, video planning and execution for the Canadiens. This includes HabsTV, canadiens.com, and social media. Her group is responsible for news coverage of the team, and create personality-based content, with an emphasis on storytelling to help bring fans closer to the team and players. The Overtime Conference will feature sports industry executives and will consist of a panel, two workshops, and a networking cocktail. The event is perfect for you if you're interested in broadening your sports business knowledge, your network, or having a chance to meet some industry specific professionals. The JMSM Overtime Conference will emulate our record-breaking November conference, with a unique touch of its own!

The John Molson Sports Marketing Committee is proud to announce that Jeremy Rutman and Claudio Fabrizio Viganó will be taking over as next year's JMSM Co-Presidents. This appointment stems from their hard work and dedication to the committee and ability to continue JMSM's success.
Claudio will be entering his 3rd year at the John Molson School of Business with a Major in Accounting. He served as the Director of Events & Operations and played a key role in the logistics and planning of this year's JMSM events. Having worked alongside many of sub-teams on the committee, he has a great understanding of the inner workings of each particular component of JMSM. In addition, his great understanding of the academic link between sports and business will help propel JMSM's future events. His work ethic and excellent leadership skills will be a valuable asset to JMSM moving forward.
After his initial attempts of joining the John Molson Sports Marketing Committee, Jeremy was deservingly chosen to serve as Director of Delegate Relations. This exemplified his perseverance, and admiration for the committee. This year, he will use these skills as well as the ones he acquired throughout the past year in his role to further solidify the John Molson Sports Marketing Committee as a staple for those trying to bridge the gap between Sports and business for years to come.
