Remember Valdicava, the wine we enjoyed so much at La Pergola in Rome? ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿท Its maker Pierfilippo Abbruzzese was recently in Manila and I got to meet the passionate man plus more importantly, try more of his familyโ€™s wines at a pairing dinner at Raging Bull. Foie gras and duck terrine with Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2010 ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿท, braised lamb shoulder with Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2007 ๐Ÿ๐Ÿท, Kimberley Red ribeye with Madonna del Piano Riserva 2007 ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿท, and seared duck breast with Madonna del Piano Riserva 2004. ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿท So happy all these wines are available in Manila at @artisancellardoor! ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜

How handsome is the counter seating at the newest branch of Pound in Mall of Asia? ๐Ÿ˜Ž Trying not to gain any more weight this gluttony season so we opted for truffle french beans instead of fries ๐Ÿ˜‡, burger without the bun but with foie gras ๐Ÿ˜ˆ, thick-cut bacon and egg sliders because smaller buns donโ€™t hurt. ๐Ÿคช Welcome to the south, @pound_ph! ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”

The lightest, crispest millefeuille Iโ€™ve had in a while. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ My biggest regret this trip was not getting to try more dishes at Belon (guys, last order is at 10pm, not 10:30pm as advised). Luckily, the kitchen was able to whip up an uni puff and the most popular entrรฉe - slow roasted tomato, anchovy and burrata - both so excellent! ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŸ๐Ÿง€ And please do not get me started on the house made bread.
