Happy Happy Birthday, Ahia Emil!!! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™ Of course, it isn't a birthday celebration without a lechon, or two, or three! πŸ–πŸ–πŸ– Plus a long table filled with sweets! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚ Birthday feast for the birthday boy who loves to eat! 🍽🍽🍽

What a fun reunion with the Spain eating crew at @kyo.toph where we had an excellent kaiseki dinner of cold inaniwa udon with ebi tempura 🍀🍜, the freshest toro, hamachi, uni, and negi tori 🐟🍣, gigantic fresh japanese oyster 🐚, ridiculously tender grilled chateaubriand πŸ„πŸ€€, unagi 🐍 and steamed wagyu πŸ„πŸ², capped off with matcha mochi and ice cream with a generous dusting of kinako. 🍡🍨 For those who want to order the same set, this is called the "Alfred Wieneke Menu" and I highly, confidently recommend it! πŸ˜πŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸΌ Thank you for hosting, Stenie and Joseph! 😘❀️

Super in love with my painting by @italyboi_56! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ I was impressed when he sent me the pencil sketch a few months ago and asked him to paint it in my favorite colors (also to make my face thinner! πŸ˜‚) but this is even better than I imagined. The photos don't do justice! To everyone asking, mine is 4x3.5 ft. and you can contact the artist Omar Flores directly for all other details +63 915 883 4361 πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨πŸŽ¨

You only need ONE REASON to book a table at @madeniceph when it launches its new menu on July 27 and it is this handmade garganelli in amatriciana sauce, anchovy cream, tomato oil, basil oil, and chili anchovies. πŸ†πŸ’£πŸ’₯ Of course there will be other dishes like octopus with mole πŸ™ and... wait for it... bulalo pasta!!! πŸ„πŸ²πŸ Raulito @raungry is amazing and his passion contagious. I will eat anything and everything that comes out of his kitchen! πŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸΌ

You are looking at the juiciest, most tender and flavorful roasted duck breast I've had in recent memory here in Manila. πŸ¦†πŸ˜ The beef short rib was mightly delicious πŸ„ and the fig cake with walnut crumble and bleu cheese ice cream made me giggle with joy. πŸ˜ƒ If you haven't been to @madeniceph, GO!! πŸ½πŸ‘πŸΌ As always, we ended the night at @m_dining.bar which boasts probably the largest gin collection in the city. Discovered a new favorite - Copperhead from Belgium (botanicals: juniper, cardamom, orange peel, angelica, coriander). Comes in a gorgeous bottle, too! πŸ’›πŸΈ

Happy Birthday to our father, our hero ❀️❀️❀️

Chef Josh Boutwood is truly one of Manila's most talented and creative chefs and a meal at The Test Kitchen is a delight each time. My favorite dish at this dinner was the "Valley" (fourth photo) - lamb, potato, and a shower of cheese. πŸ‘πŸ₯”πŸ§€ Judging from his grin, I think my friend Russell was pretty satisfied, too. 😁

Great catch up with @shootfirsteatlater who just got back from Spain and Portugal (and lost weight from the trip! I know right? 😲) She deserves to eat all the carbs we had at Hummus Elijah πŸ₯™πŸ₯™πŸžπŸ₯ where hummus with pine nuts was good and spinach burekas excellent. Skip the shakshuka and cross the street for better falafel. 😜✌🏼 Thanks for lunch and all the yummies from your trip, Les! πŸ‘β€οΈ

Favorite place inside Pinto Art Museum: The Forest πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹πŸŽ‹ Thousands of bamboo poles, dry leaves scattered on the ground, suspended rocks with water dripping from them, the scent of dry bamboo leaves, the sound when you step on them... A multisensory experience inside this brilliant installation by Antonio Leano. Watch the video and turn up the volume! πŸ’š

Don't know what took us so long to visit Pinto Art Museum, just a 50-minute drive from Makati on a Sunday yet feels like worlds away. The place is amazing - beautiful architecture and landscaping and home to an enormous collection of art works, all by Filipino artists! A must-visit not-so-hidden gem in the hills of Antipolo! @pinto.art πŸ‡΅πŸ‡β€οΈπŸ–ΌπŸŽ¨πŸ‘πŸΌ
