Oh hey 👋 I’ve been quiet for a while now but I’m still here! I’ve been focusing on my beautiful family and adjusting to motherhood - and it’s been both an amazing and extremely challenging adjustment!
.
So here’s a quick update. Training has been inconsistent, meals have been inconsistent...and sleep...definitely inconsistent! It’s taken me longer than I expected to develop a new routine that actually works and I’m still no where near having it all figured out! At times I feel frustrated because I find myself clinging to that ‘all or nothing’ mentality even though rationally I know that makes no sense.
.

So I’m choosing to focus on my mindset
🔹I’ve missed some workouts, but I’m better off for the ones I have had 🔹 I’ve missed some meals, but the ones I have are nutrient dense and exactly what I need to fuel my busy days 🔹I’m scrambling all day everyday, but I’m getting 💩 done.

Motherhood - exhausting, emotion and full of the best baby snuggles ever - such a crazy, awesome ride.

4 weeks postpartum update!.

This is NOT a progress pic! That would imply that I’m actively working towards some kind of change in my body and fitness, which I am definitely not at the moment.
.

This IS a tribute to the amazing changes that my body and mind have gone through during pregnancy and after birth.
.
I haven’t set foot in the gym since Mila was born - nor do I care. Physically I’m so happy and grateful for how I’ve recovered from birth so far and I am itching to get back in the gym and do what makes me feel like me. BUT I’ve had zero interest in rushing back into it or feeling pressured to ‘get my body back’. My body has gone through something so major and it’s still recovering. The last thing I want is to end up injured and not be able to do what I love in the long term. My first priority is taking care of myself and my baby girl. This time is for us. The gym will be there when I’m ready.
.
I have 2 more weeks before my 6 week check up where I could be cleared to get back to regular exercise. Until then I’m working on my pelvic floor and core rehab, walking and enjoying the new born cuddles 💕.

4 weeks old already! She’s growing so quickly, I can’t believe it! Words can’t express how much I love this little person💕.

The last 4 weeks have been amazing and exhausting adjusting to being a new mom. We’re both still learning from each other and my priority will always be to be the best mama I can to her but I also have goals I want to achieve and I believe I can do both (as impossible as it seems sometimes).
.

Tomorrow I’m back to full-time work/study 😢 I go back and forth between being excited at getting back to a (somewhat) regular routine and having a full blown meltdown at having less time with her each day. It’s going to be so hard, but hard doesn’t mean impossible. Plus now that these little eyes are always watching, I want her to see the power of hard work, strength and determination.

1 week postpartum 🤱 I remember worrying about the ‘aftermath’ during pregnancy and if I’d feel pressure to ‘get me body back’. Well here I am 1 week pp - soft tummy, a diastasis recti 2 fingers wide, painful stitches from my episiotomy and still getting the hang of breastfeeding. I ended up gaining about 11.5kg during pregnancy but I have never once looked in the mirror since giving birth and been disappointed. I’m still completely in awe of what my body just did and what it’s still doing to care for my baby girl. I’ve seen strength in myself that I never knew was there. .
I’m so grateful that I was able to stay active during pregnancy and so proud of my body for all the roles it’s played throughout this journey. To reduce all that to ‘baby weight’ would be stealing credit from where it’s due. .
Of course I miss my workouts and I’ll be ready to go when the time is right. But for now I’m resting, recovering and cherishing every second I can with my precious little human. .

I have no idea what day it is, days and nights blend together with little sleep, I hardly put on real clothes because 1️⃣ they don’t fit and 2️⃣ when I do they don’t last long before getting covered in milk and spit - and I can’t get enough of it 💞 I’m just happy living in my love bubble with my perfect family.

37 weeks pregnant 🤰🏼.

Every morning I feel her wiggling and stretching as we wake up together and every night she says good night by kicking back if we poke her 💕.

Baby is almost fully cooked although I think she’s pretty comfy where she is. We’re just patiently waiting until we get to meet her.

36 weeks 🤰🏼 we’re so close to meeting our little girl now!.

Update: I’m down to weight training about 3 days a week on average and walking daily although I’m on my feet with a hectic schedule all day every day! My energy levels are great and I’m feeling good for the most part minus some hip and back aches after long days. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely have off days and downright emotional days and days that I’m over pregnancy all together. But overall I’m really happy and proud of my body for how it’s handled pregnancy and given my baby girl a home to grow in.

I’m taking it day by day now but when I stop to think about the whole journey it’s pretty amazing what our bodies are capable of.

35 weeks 🤰🏼 and 5 to go until we get to meet our baby girl! I’ve been averaging 11hr days lately so today was all about relaxation 🙌 Pancakes, beach, dog walk (waddle), light workout and nap 👌
