It was a rowdy day of morning workouts @skyterra_wellness !.

QUICK FIT included a 3:2:1 minutes on the cardio with 20:16:12 Wall Balls and Box Step Overs in between. Our crew finish just under 12minutes. They crushed it! .
.
LEAN class focused on the upper body with bench press as the main move along with planks and hollows. Conditioning was an 8min AMRAP of 6 Ring Rows, 8 Push Press, and 10 Sit-ups. No joke. Amazing to watch all levels and 10+ guests get after it!

It’s difficult to keep our motivation when it comes to working out. We know we “should” do it and that’s it’s how “to be healthy” but what will make it stick? .

Get attached to the feeling. The mood and energy level impacts are impossible to receive from other resources. You’ll start to crave it. Gratification immediately after the execution of any activity is how you can quickly increase motivation. .

Squeezing in a few fun reads before summer grad class begins. Long overdue, finally executed “Steal the Show” by Michael Port. .

One of my favorite skills to work on professionally is public speaking. Port’s narrative and tips were right on the money. Five practical takeaways and ideas: .

#1 - Before developing content or presentations you must identify your big idea and related promise. .
.
#2 - A speaker should/can use timing, tone, volume and timbre to add emotional context. Your biggest weapon is the PAUSE. .
.
#3 - Speaking is performing and performing is an art, there isn’t ☝️ way to make art. .
.
#4 - Two things audiences remember: a) the most emotional response b) the closing of your speech. .
.
#5 - Establish right away that you know what the world looks like for them and tell them what it could look like. .
.
Quick notable TIPS: don’t run long (60% of speeches do). Don’t forecast, no need to tell them “here’s what we’re going to do today.” Lastly, your audience loses respect for you if you let people carry on.

Great morning LEAN session with our super cool guests. They absolutely crushed it. Back Squat and accessory work to begin followed by Classic 12min AMRAP of:
10 RKB SWINGS, 10 STEP UPS, 10 SIT UPS, 1:00 Cardio. Everyone accomplished 4+ rounds 🤙💪

Bootcamps just don’t make sense. The ship has sailed. More is not better; it’s just more. As part of our regular schedule @skyterra_wellness we include a recover day on Thursday’s and Sunday’s. On these days the focus becomes lighter movement based activities including yoga, breath work and mobility. It’s an opportunity to focus on what can be termed the “software” side of fitness. We prioritize this because it’s just important as the “hardware” fitness; the cardio and strength side of the equation. No longer should you fall into the majority.
