The rocks were slippery, the path mud-slicked and uncertain, and there was a constant shower of spray soaking us to the bone in near freezing, windy weather, making it difficult to see. I was terrified to climb up and behind this stunning, 213 ft waterfall, but I knew even more that I'd regret it forever if I didn't at least try. One of the scariest things I've ever done, but that's the thing about travel that I love. You push yourself and see what you're made of, how much you can handle; your character in a life or death situation. The truth is, travel isn't always fun, and it sure as hell isn't easy. But moments like this are the reward.
So this is what I invest in. This is why I travel.
