In 1963 to be part of the Ras Tafari Movement meant you were a target for the Government; to be hunted, tortured and/or killed! In 1963, just one year after Jamaica celebrated Independence, hundreds of Ras Tafari People in the community of Coral Gardens were subjugated to ill treatment by the then Government Jamaica Labor Party. The Officials accused the Ras Tafari People of setting fire to a Gas Station; a claimed denied by the people. During this "Pre-Reggae" era, before being Globally accepted, fashioned and trended! To be Dread was a terrible thing, you would have been ostracized and revered as a"Black Heart Man". Lest We Forget, we would have put to shame all those who paved the way for Our presence!!! Get to Know The Ras Tafari Movement without Reggae and you will see there's more to it than Ganja, than the Fallacy of One Love when there Lack Equal Rights and Justice.
