I've started buying a snow globe for Coraline at the airport before boarding a plane home. The first one was Austin, TX for QuiltCon in 2015 because that was my first time flying somewhere without her. Yesterday she added this adorable little one for Savannah to her collection!! (thank you airport merch buyer for buying smaller ones to sell finally!!) .
.
I apparently caught a cold while there, and am now bundled up in my giant beanbag (it's a @lovesac , not as weird as it sounds) working on upcoming patterns for Art School Dropout and some other awesome folks. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ‰ #coralinessnowglobecollection

My absolute favorite time to take photos at #quiltcon is 20 minutes before the floor closes for the day. You get clear shots of the quilts, the booths and anything else people would normal crowd up!! I promise you that's the only time a non vendor sees it this empty. Normally it's crazy pants busy. .
.
I haven't posted much from my trip, but I promise you I've taken a lot of photos! I hope to share them and my experience soon.

For now I need to get my two hours of sleep before my early flight in the morning!! #quiltcon2017

Say hello to Mr Golf Ball Man! He was the fun iron on appliquΓ© I assembled at the @andoverfabrics booth here at #quiltcon . They had a whole bunch of fabric with fusible backing that was then laser cut by @lasercutquilts. Guest could design their own blocks that will then be combined to make a handful of charity quilts!! How neat is that? You can see what everyone else is making over at #andovercoop #quiltcon2017 #sewwiththebest

"Enjoying" my first ghost tour with a bunch of awesome ladies here in Savannah! #quiltcon #doyouseetheghostcat ?

Now I'm on a tiny plane to NYC and will then be on another tiny plane to Savannah. You can only imagine the cuss words coming out while I sit here crying. #jesseevsdelta

Are you guys ready for a new Jessee travel hashtag? πŸ˜’ It is now #jesseevsdelta .
.
My flight was just cancelled and I won't catch my connecting flight in Atlanta. 😑😑😑😑 you can see previous years issues at #jesseevssouthwest to get an idea of my bad luck!

The last thing on my checklist is ready to be added to the suitcase! πŸŽ‰ #askmeaboutmyhexies .

Now I just need to try and relax and get a LITTLE rest before I head out at 5am. 😳

I had my hair done at the Paul Mitchell school again, and this time I requested they add some silver to the purple they normally use. I wanted it to fade with my grey roots a little better. The student I had asked if she could run with that and experiment a bit. As usual I was like "um of course! That's why I come here!"
.
.
So she only bleached some of my salt n pepper grey which left silver streaks that wouldn't soak up the dye (FYI: most grey hair can't hold dye) she then did the area near my roots a raspberry like color and the bottom is purple and chrome streaked. It's my absolute favorite. I know it'll never be recreated, so I'm taking all the photos. She seemed to have fun with it too. It's going to be interesting seeing how this fades and how it will mix with the @overtonecolor conditioners I use. .
.
P.S: this photo makes it look like I have a glass eye hidden behind my hair, and I kind of like that. πŸ˜‚

The thin mint needed a friend! My troop now has two cookie costumes. I made backs and add shoulder straps in between. SUPER simple and took me a total of an hour and a half for both. The girls loved them and we received a bunch of compliments. It was WAY easier than trying to rent one from the Girl Scout counsel. .
.
P.S: it's supposed to look puffy! I added batting scraps in between the layers to add texture.

Today was crazy busy! I had to finish up a bunch of quilt work, I needed to cut up a huge pile of empty Girl Scout cookie boxes, I made one of two cookie costumes (thin mint shown here) and I needed to clean and prep my house for our #blingyourbooth cookie kick off party that just finished. I'm exhausted.
.
.
We have our first cookie booth tomorrow, then another one Sunday, and then the kids have off Monday and Tuesday. I'm looking forward to the #quiltcon crazy, it'll be a nice change from the 7 year old crazy. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ» I didn't really think through how much work being a troop leader was! 😳 but seeing all the girl leave happy tonight was worth it. @girlscoutscmd #girlscoutcookies #girlscoutcookiecostume #girlscoutcookiecrafts

I figured I'll look disheveled by day two or three of QuiltCon, so why not give you a preview (I have no idea how to style shorter hair yet or deal with the frizz)... πŸ˜‚
.
.
#helloquiltcon !! This is what I look like, except I'm covering my natural grey with my normal purple tomorrow. So just look for this tired face, but with purple hair. .
.
I will also have a few dozen #hexie lapel pins with me to trade and stuff. So I guess that's a good reason to hunt me down. πŸ‘ I'll see some of you in less than a week!!! Woohoo!

I spent my day today getting more than a foot of hair cut off, walking around Joann's BY MYSELF and then shipping the @lizzyhouse mini off to Savannah, GA! It will be joining a bunch of others as part of @andoverfabrics #andovergallery2017 .
.
.
This is a design I've been messing with since June and have finally finished the pattern for this version, and a much larger version with one set of diamonds (that can double as a tree skirt!!! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»). The mini is paper pieced, the large one is not. .
.
The way the pattern is set up allows for several different looks, one being a scrap busting rainbow of crazy. Using solids in just the right way creates a 3D look. So basically you can go all out like I did here, sorta go all out or keep it simple. I can't wait to share all the mockups and samples I'm working on. .
.
If you are in my pattern testing group, keep a look out in the next two weeks for a call for testers. If you aren't part of the group, I'm hoping to release this mid April 2017 as PDF and late May 2017 in print (I found an amazing local printer) so keep a look out. ❀️❀️❀️ #diamondburstquilt #artschooldropoutpatterns #andoverfabrics #sewwiththebest #lizzyhouse #jesseemakesquiltsnow .

P.S.: the diamond tips aren't normally cut off like that! I messed up on the size they wanted.
