This picture was taken eighteen months ago whilst I was in Australia. We had flown from Perth to the stunning island of Rottnest in a PA-34. Of course I played co-pilot but was far too preoccupied taking pictures 🤣
This trip was a turning point in my life and my career.
I was so stuck in a rut before this point that I decided to make the conscious effort to grab any opportunity that came my way, no matter how much it scared me.
I was offered the opportunity to go and work in Australia...so I took it! I didn’t even think about what I needed to get there I just said yes!
I traveled there on my own. I had never travelled alone before,..let alone to the other side of the planet! So this for me was quite something.
I spent time with my family in Perth and then went on to Adelaide for the convention.
I had very little work booked for the convention so I was hoping that I was lucky enough to get walk up clients whilst I was at the convention, everything was a massive gamble, financially especially.
The whole experience in the end was amazing. I learnt to be more confident and to stop being scared of ‘what could happen’, I learnt to let go and look at it as an exciting opportunity.
I met people whilst I was there who are now good friends of mine, people I would have never met if I had turned down the opportunity.
Now, we all have days where we can feel down and forget to feel grateful, when I do I always think back to this life changing point and it gives me strength to continue no matter how tired I feel and how drained I am.
Sometimes you just have to say ‘YES’ because sometimes it leads to opportunity’s you never knew existed and meeting great people who inspire you in some way.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for supporting my work, you are all the reason that I can continue with my art and with out art my life would be empty.
You are all the best! 💖💎
