Such a powerful speech. Stereotypes are one of many reasons why so many children around the world do not manage to achieve their full potential. The society puts them in a box that says "you are too poor", "you don't belong there", "you are not smart enough", "you are not pretty enough", "your parents are this, your parents are that", "you are just a girl", "you are just a boy", "just a shoemaker", "you are middle class", "you are weak", "this is not for you"....and somehow they start believing in it. And they either give up too soon, or they don't try at all. There are a lot of stereotypes around success, too! like the one "If you are too good, then you must be cheating". The life has given us such a challenging arena. We must always be ready for both winning and losing, as nothing comes as easy as it seems.
Parents, lots of work awaits us. As Chimamanda says "we must raise our children differently". #believeintheirdreams #justathought
