Come come!! Repost @festivalofwordsde (@get_repost)
Getting excited for the 2018 Festival of Words? So are we! In the days ahead, we’ll be sharing information about our presenters and what they’ll be talking about at the festival. First up: @jeffzentner .
Jeff Zentner is the author of the William C. Morris Award winning and Carnegie Medal longlisted book The Serpent King (2016) as well as Goodbye Days (2017). He lives in Nashville, Tennessee. He came to writing through music, starting his creative life as a guitarist and eventually becoming a songwriter. He’s released five albums and appeared on recordings with Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Thurston Moore, Debbie Harry, Mark Lanegan, and Lydia Lunch, among others.
He will present the opening Keynote address, on the topic: "The Importance of Stories and Empathy.”
For his breakout session, titled “Writing on the Bus,” Jeff will talk about his journey from music to writing, including how and why he made that switch (all while balancing a day job, and without any formal training). .
The Festival of Words is open to all Delaware middle school and high school students, teachers, and librarians. Registration will go live at the beginning of January, so stay tuned! Go to the link in our profile to visit the website for more details.
