Stay weird folks 😜

@daniellejlehman and I planned a black and white, contrast shoot a few months ago. Today we made it happen. You can see some behind the scenes in my live story.

My first love.

I woke up early the morning after we went to the Grand Canyon. As I drove through the park, I got a glimpse of the sun rising above the canyon. But I wasn't staying. I drove in from one side and exited another. Droning is illegal in national parks and I was on a journey to a secluded spot just east of the rims. I parked my rental Kia Soul and took a half mile walk to an overlook. I walked past native arts stands setting up for the day, and found a spot to sit and take some time for myself. It was better than being in the national park. I was up close and personal to this creation of God. I spent a few minutes admiring the view (I wish I had spent more) and took out my drone to capture the scenery. Flying and photographing from above is beyond therapeutic for me. To combine my love for lines, symmetry, art and design... it's a perfect 20 minute escape. I've turned down multiple opportunities to work as a drone operator. This is my hobby. This is one of the few things that bring me joy. I don't want to ruin that for a buck. Life isn't always about making that extra dollar, and sometimes the little escapes make all the difference in keeping us afloat. #fromwhereidrone

I told Connor to tickle Jennie. Isn't that the WORST? 🤣🤣

Fun, smiley, cuddly couples are the best!

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:3

Our plane is delayed two hours so here's a picture looking down a canyon.

"At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.
We will be judged by "I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in."
- Mother Teresa

I'm in love with the colors of Arizona 🌵

I woke up at 5am this morning to drive an hour away to a spot I was legally able to fly my drone. I drove alongside the Grand Canyon as the sun rose just above the horizon. I got my destination and it was silent. I walked about half a mile to a secluded spot on the edge of a canyon that runs just below the Colorado River. It was remarkable, rejuvenating and refreshing. The brisk air by the canyons is about 30° cooler than it is in Phoenix. I have so many photos to share. But for now... here's the desert path to my new sanctuary.

Trying my hardest to not care about getting the perfect Instagram on vacation. But I'll gladly jump out and fly my drone while my daughter naps.
