Ramen masters @TonkotsuLondon have a collaboration on with @GizziErskine for 6 weeks only. Gizzi's ramen is a noodle soup with doenjang miso and spicy gochujang paste, swirled into Tonkotsu's classic pork belly broth. It's topped off with kimchi, black garlic oil and a whole egg.
A healthy breakfast & a new book to start the weekend. Ginger & tumeric poached pear with ginger yogurt & 'best granola' made by recipe from @guardian_cook that was devised by @felicitycloake after much testing of granola recipes. Looking forward to reading WA: The Essence of Japanese Design. A gorgeous @phaidonsnaps book.
Japanese afternoon tea @SosharuLondon. Love the addition of fried chicken karaage and taiyaki to an afternoon tea!
Big Ben not so subtly reminding me that London is a very beautiful city.
Nasu dengaku, yellowtail yuzu ceviche sushi roll & chirashi tart with salmon and Japanese guacamole @murakami_london.
The Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall. I associate the RAC with emergency mechanics, so very surprised to find they also have a swanky members club in London.
Homemade Japanese curry - chicken, aubergine & tomato curry with cumin rice. The chicken was marinated in shio koji overnight to make it super tender. Delicious! Great recipe from "Donabe" by @mrsdonabe & @kyleconnaughton.
Breakfast - Matcha & coconut yogurt pannacotta with raspberries & pistachios. Recipe needs some tweaking to make it set better, so not perfect on the looks front, but tasted amazing! 😋
Ightham Mote a beautiful @NationalTrust moated manor house built over 700 years ago. The portrait is 'Young Lady in White' by John Singer Sargent on temporary loan from the Fine Arts Centre in Colorado Springs. The 'Young Lady' is Elsie Palmer, the daughter of General Jackson Palmer, famous American railroad engineer and founder of Colorado Springs. The family once lived in this beautiful house.
