I’m so lucky your thirst for adventure almost surpasses mine. We were thinking about honeymooning in the Caribbean on an island somewhere but I’m really pulling for another backpacking trip. One reason, we stayed in a resort while we were on Boracay and it was my least favorite part of our trip. The resort, not the actual island. The beaches were amazing but I’m not a resort person. .

He says he still wants to go and sit on a beach, I want to go to Nepal and climb to base camp of Mt. Everest. The struggle is real, but there could be worse things to argue about 😂 .

It’s scary to try new things, I get that. I try new things all the time and fall flat on my damn face. Literally and figuratively. Fear of failure is a powerful driving force to keep you from your goals. .

But I’m here to tell you, nothing good ever happened from staying in your comfort zone. And you will not fail if you don’t quit. When you push yourself to do hard things physically, something shifts mentally where you can push forward and get uncomfortable other aspects of your life too. .

Uhm, I fall all the time out of this posture. Lately, a lot less because I won’t quit. Just here to remind you that if you are consistent and you want something hard enough and if you manifest it and work towards it, that it WILL happen. It will be hard, bloody, sweat, and tears, but do you want to wake up years from now and wander... what if?

Getting our vegetable/ herb garden built. We are building new boxes this year two 6 x 16 raised beds, for now. I live on the property of 2 carpenters and have built many structures, waterlines, and gardens over the past 3 years. So if anyone needs anything build 💁🏼‍♀️ .

It’s about to be another week of rain, so we are getting ahead of the game and getting the food garden all ready for starts! I’m the ultimate procrastinator, but I’m working on it! And I want my garden to be FRUITFUL this year so 👊🏼 I’m going for it. .

It’s so crazy how tweaking 1 thing can help you find that AH- HA moment. And I’m not just talking about in yoga, but in your every day life. For me, it was using a block this morning in my Pincha practice. Lately, for some reason, my hands have started to move into one another and it was causing me to get really frustrated with this. But then, I grabbed a block and put it right in between my hands and MAGIC. .
.
I started my weekend with an hour and a half yoga class and I feel all the good energy. I also hadn’t talked to my bestie @wjphanic since I’d been back and talking to her made me fill a void I’d been missing. It’s so funny, we are all so connected through social media, we don’t even pick up the phone anymore to chat. But in reality, that’s not reality! .
.
So do something that makes you just over the moon happy this weekend. Talk to a friend you’ve been missing, or your mom (mine is way overdue for a chat 😬) or create something or move with intention. Just fill your cup so we can make the world a happier and more beautiful place. You might even find an AH-HA moment for yourself. .

First off, I’m not going to do something for a year if I don’t 💯 fully believe in it!! Health and fitness is my job on so many platforms, it is my obligation to inform as many people as I can because I want everyone to live their healthiest and happiest life. That’s my mission.

Another thing, I really thought I was living a relatively ‘healthy’ life until I started on this journey. I was teaching yoga and practicing everyday, finding whatever fitness class I could, doing paleo, whole 30, juice cleanses, carb cycling, seriously trying it all and just thought, “Well this is just how it’s supposed to be for you Jordan.” WRONG. .
.
Fast forward a year of consistently showing up for myself and still enjoying life, and here I am. 15 lbs down, and staying down, a different mindset on nutrition because I learned how to portion correctly and count my macronutrients. The picture on the right was at the END of a 2 month Asian adventure of eating all the things but still doing a program. What?! I know I couldn’t believe it either. .
.
Since the photo on the right was taken, I’m almost done with week 2 of my bootcamp. And in that time of watching me, you could have been joining me and been 1/3 done with this program, seeing results, and finding something that works for you. Because I promise it will work if you do! [Side Note: not that numbers on a scale matter, because they don’t, but 6 lbs down already feels so good] So you can continue to watch or you can join in on my wellness group. Summer is basically here!

Uhm yes, I love food. It’s taken me a lot of years to retrain my mind to love the stuff I should. I was raised in the south where butter, milk, fried food, and giant portions were the norm so it’s still a work in progress. I still have lots of moments where I want that giant bowl of queso to myself.

Life isn’t meant to be restricted. It’s meant to be lived! Guilt-free because you are in control. You decide when to say no to Oreos and when to say yes to banh mi. .
I did not skip a freaking beat while I was traveling. Coconut coffees, drank them. Gyoza’s, definitely 5 a day while I was in Pai. Street food, I tried it all- except the bugs 🤪 .
.
That extra 5 lbs I came back with did NOT make me feel guilty at all because they aren’t the problem. There’s something else going on in there that is if you’re feeling guilty 💁🏼‍♀️

Guys , it’s a battle, sugar is a DRUG. Processed foods are addicting. Portions here are entirely too large but we keep eating. NUTRITION is hard! I mean ice cream can be delivered to your house in a matter of minutes. What matters is when you known when to say no. What matters is when you know when to dial it back in. .
.

Our Sunday consisted of splitting wood for the next storm that’s brewing and adjusting to this daylight savings. I woke up super charged and looked at the clock and it was SO late. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Didn’t even realize it was last night, nor did I have any real warning!! Where are all my prepared people with my memes?! We also did a lot of cuddling with the dogs by the fire, watching “Homeland”, and of course meal planning.

And tomorrow I start something REALLY EXCITING and I can’t wait to share. I’ll give you 1 guess on what it is!!! But I’m not going into it right now because Sunday evenings are made for cooking dinner with your boo and watching Kill Bill volume 2. (Until GOT comes on). .

Sunday FUNDAY! At least for me 🤣 .

When I’m at home on Sunday’s, I take the day to clean, organize, plan, and chill... I’m still in my sweats and slippers (also because we don’t allow shoes in the house) and I’m not complaining because a clean space is a happy space. I got all up in #yurtreynolds 🧽 - if you just started following me, I live in a yurt and I call it YurtReynolds- .
.
We strive to use all eco-friendly products and try and make our home as sustainable as possible because every single persons’ decision matters. .
.

Did you know one EPA study confirmed that the toxicity of household cleaners are 3x more liable to cause cancer than external pollution. AND most air in our homes is more toxic then outside.
Also, the average American produces almost 6 lbs of trash A DAY! I suck at math, but even so... the earth can’t survive on numbers like that. .
.
So, some things we do have a more ❤️🌎 home:
.
🚫No paper towels (we have a roll stashed away for emergencies)but we use microfiber towels that we can wash and reuse. ⚱️We store all of our dried food and spices in jars- which you can take back to the store a refill. No plastic!
💦 Whatever eco-friendly deal on dish soap our co-op is offering is what we go with. Since we have a gray water system, everything we put down our sink has no harsh chemicals because it run back off into the earth. BUT we do have bleach for emergencies. 🌱 I use @doterra OnGuard for spray cleaners, as well as @mrsmeyerscleanday concentrate to make in my own glass bottle. - because again, I try and avoid plastic!
🧺 Detergent- organic and no harsh chemicals because 1. It will absorb into your skin! 2. Detergent ends up in our stream and we drink that water!! So read your labels! . .
The more we share, the more we bring awareness, the more we make a difference! .
