We're thrilled to have athlete, speaker and coach @justinmorrismdog joining us at #typeonesummit in #NSW to talk to our teens program group about his achievements living with #type1diabetes 🚵🏼 Bikes have been a part of Justin's life since childhood. However, at the age of 10 he was diagnosed with #t1d 💉

This created a few more challenges, but nothing was going to stop him from pursuing what he loves - riding his bike. 🚲 By the age of 23, Justin had spent 10 years racing bikes both in road and MTB. These years of training led him to his first professional road racing contract.
Justin spent 5 years as a professional in road cycling travelling the world racing his bike. Having transitioned from a pro career to complete his university studies Justin now fuels his competitive streak with mountain biking. Having finished many stage races and XCM races on the MTB including podium finishes at The Crocodile Trophy, 1st place in the 2016 Simpson Desert Bike Challenge and 4th place in this year's Pioneer in New Zealand.
Want to hear more from Justin? There's still spots available in the program for 12-16 year olds at Type One Summit. 24 September. @novotel_parramatta

Our proud Aussie advocate Will is back on home soil after a whirlwind trip to Children's Congress in Washington DC. Kids from around the world joined their US friends to descend Capitol Hill en made, for a Senate Hearing and meetings with Senators and Congressmen. Will wasted no time in talking to anyone and everyone about his government advocacy efforts in Australia, as well as taking back many learnings for the future of advocacy! #childrenscongress #jdrfcc17 #jdrf #type1diabetes #t1d #typeone #type1 #diabetes #congress #advocacy #capitolhill #washingtondc

Last week, Max's mum Emma reached out to us with this wonderful photo of her little boy. This is Max on a school holidays family ski trip to New Zealand, just a month after he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). It was Max's first time at the snow, and he quickly mastered the art of snowboarding, all while adjusting to his new lifestyle like a pro. His mum says you would never guess he is new at T1D!
The family are determined not to let anything get in the way of Max living life to the fullest, and Max is pretty proud to share his T1D story with everyone he meets!

We're looking forward to meeting Max, Emma and family at the Perth One Walk in November! :) #type1diabetes #type1 #typeone #t1d #diabetes #jdrfonewalk #t1dlookslikeme #t1dlife

We're thrilled to welcome JDRF International's Dr Aaron Kowalski as your keynote speaker for Sydney's JDRF Type One Summit.
In his role at JDRF International, Dr Kowalski combines his professional experience as a scientist with his personal experience of living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) to help guide and champion our programs to create a world without T1D.

Dr Kowalski has travelled and spoken globally about T1D research progress, and is known for his ability to translate science into easily understandable concepts.
He often speaks about the importance of exercise and diet in better T1D control. While living with T1D, he has completed 17 marathons. Online, he often tweets about exercise and diabetes and how all people with T1D can live their lives without limits.

Don't miss Dr Kowalski's compelling insights. Get tickets: at summit.jdrf.org.au or via bio link #type1diabetes #t1d #type1 #sydney #novotelparramatta #conference #event #t1summit #typeonediabetic #typeonesummit
