Biggest snowstorm of the season. Looks like about a foot and a half. Nobody is moving. It’s a ghost town.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Wildcat Ski Area: with Stan Judge who ran the resort for 40 years, with friends Annie Kuster, US Rep (D) for NH with husband Brad, and my ski mate since grad school...Chris Noble, with evidence of horrid ski conditions behind him.

A wonderful family Christmas week in Cabo is over. So precious to all be together. I hope we can rally again soon. (Karen, check out the rings & necklace 😎)

My favorite place to be, with my favorite person, at my favorite time of year 😁

Disaster hit on Thanksgiving morning, with everyone home for a four day holiday visit. Our boiler started leaking...no heat, no hot water. We have been camping out in our cold home for the past two weeks, heating bath water on the stove and burning through two big racks of firewood. The plumbers finally arrived on Tuesday to remove the old boiler and install a super-duper high efficiency system, with all new circulator pumps. A $12,600 price tag, but a big improvement for our home. Thank you Dave and Adam from Powderly and Sons Plumbing. You guys do beautiful work. Our house in FINALLY WARM again. All's well that ends well 😀.

This past weekend a very special reunion took place of former member of the New Hope Singers International. Our most recent gathering had been in 2003. Twenty-five of us spent Saturday together, hugging, rehearsing, performing at the Washington Family Church, and sharing memories. We had lived, traveled the world, performed, recorded and fundraised together non-stop beginning on September 15, 1973. I left NHSI after three years to return to college, some stayed on into the early 1980s. It was a powerful experience to spend a day and sing together once again. Several shared that their NHSI years were the best years of the lives.

Kinuyo’s beloved mother passed away last weekend, 94 years old. She spent her entire life doing farm work and taking care of others. The family gathered for a formal Buddhist wake, funeral and cremation at a state run facility in Kagoshima City. Kinuyo and I were both able to participate in the events which were of profound importance to the family. The photos begin with the Friday evening gathering in Kinuyo’s home and end just prior to the cremation on Sunday. The last photo shows the extended Tokimura-Iwamoto family before departing for home after the cremation.

The environmental engineering and environmental regulatory community of Raleigh, NC learn all about “The Art and Science of Surfactant Enhanced Aquifer Remediation.” A fascinating topic. Only a few were sleeping 🤓
