Kinuyo’s beloved mother passed away last weekend, 94 years old. She spent her entire life doing farm work and taking care of others. The family gathered for a formal Buddhist wake, funeral and cremation at a state run facility in Kagoshima City. Kinuyo and I were both able to participate in the events which were of profound importance to the family. The photos begin with the Friday evening gathering in Kinuyo’s home and end just prior to the cremation on Sunday. The last photo shows the extended Tokimura-Iwamoto family before departing for home after the cremation.

The environmental engineering and environmental regulatory community of Raleigh, NC learn all about “The Art and Science of Surfactant Enhanced Aquifer Remediation.” A fascinating topic. Only a few were sleeping 🤓

Powerful sculptures at the Briscoe Museum of Western Art. Photos don't capture the energy and life in these figures. Each of these works seems to tell a compelling story. I thought of Luke while appreciating this collection.

I am in San Antonio Texas for the International Petroleum Environmental Conference. We have a booth with our BioSolve distributor for Southern Texas. It seems I come here all the time now. A stroll on the Riverwalk is a such a pleasure in the early morning. I am always reminded of my visit with Yuji when he lived here for 6 months, already about 5 years ago.

Incredible talent, right here on Douglas Road in Lexington, starting in just a few hours !

The stage is set for The Douglas Road Music Festival in our side yard on Sunday afternoon. Entertainment by The Kokosingers, Lisa Bastoni and High Strung Reunion. We're expecting thousands...hundreds...dozens...we have no idea! Stay tuned 😎

One cord of stacked firewood, ready for the coming winter in Glen, New Hampshire

Look at this beautiful fall "foltage" in Pinkham Notch, New Hampshire. "Foltage" is Kinu terminology, now widely adopted, derived from "foliage" + "voltage"

We had 63 percent eclipse coverage in Boston area. Not the drama of totality, but a very excited, energized gathering on Robbin's Hill in Arlington centering on a cool set up by a local amateur astronomer.

Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival 2017 is over! Started out with downpours and incredible MUD. Ended in sunshine.

We saw 21 dynamite bands. Here are photos of ten of them, in order: Sarah Jaroz, Bryan Sutton Band, Travelin' McCoureys, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Billy Strings, Steep Canyon Rangers, Frank Solivan and Dirty Laundry, Jerry Douglas Band, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Lonely Heartstrings Band.

Today was the "Peace Starts With Me" Rally at Madison Square Garden. The 2,000 Voice Choir totally rocked the house to the point that the MC had a struggle ending the applause. WOW

Welcome to the Grey Skies...I mean Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival. Downpouring rain, almost raining too hard to hear the music 🤢. Luckily Kinu insisted on a hotel room instead of a ⛺.
