To those who are struggling with their identity, who don’t feel accepted, or who don’t feel safe enough to come out yet: Please know you have the right to be yourself and to have access to basic human needs. You have the right to kindness and acceptance. You have the right to be loved unconditionally by your family. You have the right to marry the person who makes you a better person.
Like many, I never wanted to “come out” I just wanted to love whoever I love and live my life. And like many, every day I put up with assumptions about my sexuality, with invasive questions about my personal life, with discrimination, with stares and threats, with notions about what’s normal.
Catherine, I’m so lucky you found me. I would be so lost without your light, your patience, your friendship, your intelligence, your guidance, your trust, and your laughter. You are my family, and we brave this thing together, which makes it all worth it. 🌈 #nationalcomingoutday
