This sweet sweet man passed away from a heart attack last Thursday. For a man who wore hearing aids most of the time I knew him, he was always listening. It was his way of loving. My grandpa had a way of hugging you and making you feel like the most valuable and cherished person in the room. He was humble, hard working, and a calm presence in the midst of the high volume of our family gatherings. May his legacy of humble listening and great hugs live on. The world needs more of it. I know I do.
