I’d just like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you for your immense support and encouraging words regarding my previous post.

It certainly was a hard thing to put out there, but the response and feedback I received following it was truly overwhelming. -
It definitely has been an interesting & testing year, but all that is well behind me now and I’m looking forward to smashing out the rest of 2018.
I have been able to consistently return back to what I enjoy doing most; gym, work, enjoying life.

Let’s talk... This year has been my most difficult year, not physically, but mentally.
You all know that I am an advocate for staying on top of your health, whether it be physically, mentally or medically.
-
Earlier in the year a few individuals’ actions, and the repercussions of those actions left me emotionally/mentally compromised, which ultimately and honestly led to me being in a depressed state.
-
This caused a drop in motivation for many aspects of my life to say the least. Doing what I love became a chore. Gym, business, social media were all put in the back of my mind whilst I came to terms with this and worked to overcome it.
-
And it has taken a long time to accomplish this, as you would’ve seen through the lack of regular posts throughout the year.
-
I felt that I owe an explanation to you, my biggest supporters, about my absence over the year. Even with my unexplained absence, I have continued to receive positive messages from many of you. Something I am very thankful for.
-
I can very gladly say I have overcome these feelings and am done with that period of my life. As I get back to working on myself for continual improvement in all aspects.
-
I’d like to thank you all for your patience with me during this time, your continued support means the world to me.
You’ll be seeing my face more often around here from now on 🙂

Let’s Talk Training
-
These days there are so many sources of information on how you should train; often fluffing about how to get ripped or jacked quick, marketed towards beginners or the yet to learn, and often without detailing the fundamentals of what should be implemented in your training
-
So just what is happening when we train? We are introducing a stimulus to our body. How does our body react to this stimulus, by adapting; becoming stronger or more efficient
-
What happens when this stimulus no longer provides adaptive benefits? We plateau. How do we overcome this plateau? By progressing the stimulus
-
When we progressive overload the stimulus to our body there are 3 main things we can alter/increase
-
Total Volume = The amount of work done/sets in the gym
Load = How much poundage you lift for said exercises
Intensity = How hard said training is/how close to failure you train
-
Does this mean going into the gym balls to the wall and smashing it out til you can no longer walk or vomit your way out the door? No
-
This sort of training will soon become counter intuitive, by having no volume, load, or intensity to increase when a plateau occurs, overloading your systemic fatigue or by injury due to overtraining (yes, it’s a thing)
-
Progressively overload your training with at least 2 of those 3 principles (ideally all 3). Execute a bit of patience, persistence and perseverance. And enjoy the process
-
Don’t buy into the fad training phases that come and go. Your training process is a marathon, not a sprint. Which fundamentally comes down to a science that can’t be overruled by a $10 Get Ripped Quick Ebook
