The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) today named the 25-member team representing the country at the Penn Relays, currently underway at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

The Jamaicans will partake in the much-anticipated USA vs The World series, which includes men's and women's 4x100m, 4x400m and Sprint Medley relays.

Veteran sprinter Nesta Carter, who is still awaiting a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on his appeal of a disqualification from the 2008 Olympic Games, was listed among the 12 male athletes to compete.

Stirring The Pot @ Zest Restaurant, The Cliff Hotel

The Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards judges were back on the road Sunday. Negril was their final destination, but not before a breakfast and jumbo malt stop in MoBay at the iconic Pelican and a photo op at the larger-than-life iron image of Usain Bolt made entirely of bolts by German artist Diedel Klooever at Tracks & Records. The stop put all in good stead for the final leg of the journey.

“You bring the people, we’ll bring the food”... My good friend Melanie Henry and I felt that we would bring our goodly selves, confident that Pink Apron’s chefs Charissa Henry, Brittany Ho and Josh Parkins would bring the food. We had to be confident about the food, as we were hungrily heading all the way to Silver Hill Gap, about 40 minutes from Papine Square.

Earlier this year social media lit up after Solange, the younger sister of pop icon Beyoncé, announced that she was in Jamaica via an Instagram post.

Media outlets including lifestyle arbiter Vogue, reported on the young starlet who was staying in Cardiff Hall, St Ann, in an old villa once used by rock legend Joni Mitchell, where she was being inspired to write music for an upcoming album. Her last effort, A Seat at the Table, was released in 2016.
