The world of bare-knuckle boxing in the UK today. The first formal bout of bare-knuckle was recorded in 1681, with the sport popularised in by the end of the 17th century. The introduction of gloves into the sport with the Queensberry rules eventually saw bare-knuckle pushed underground. Today the sport remains legal but unregulated with no licensing body for the bare-knuckle boxing in place. Increasingly now fights are moving away from pub car parks to more established, mainstream venues.
