You say I’m wearing too much black but all I hear is I look great.”

I no longer bury demons. I’ll be a vessel for the Truth until I’m barely breathing.”

Plants are more courageous than almost all human beings: an orange tree would rather die than produce lemons, whereas instead of dying the average person would rather be someone they are not.” - Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Food for thought.

All what we fought for is not what is going on right now. It is a tragedy that he lived and saw what was happening, we cannot pretend like South Africa is not in crisis, our country is in crisis and anyone who cannot see that is just bluffing themselves.” - Mam Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in 2017

RIP Mam’Winnie. #winniemadikizelamandela
My mother would always speak so highly of umama. I never understood it because media said otherwise, history seemed to say otherwise. I’ve realised that it’s up to us to keep our history alive. The truth is a constant and will always remain. She’s done so much for us as Africans, as womxn as people with a dream and desire to see it realised no matter what may be said of you. I wish she lived to see us realize the role she’s played but I also know she has never needed anyone to validate her greatness. Let us keep her truth alive. I thank God that I was blessed enough to meet her and to speak with her. I wish I knew more then. We love you and we appreciate you. As we continue to learn about you, may we apply this to our daily lives... beyond waiting to listen to what may or may not be true, we need to go and find out about our history. Mam Winnie was a warrior. May her spirit and her lessons live on.

Fearless. I’m so glad I got to meet you, mbokodo. ✊🏾
