To one of my finest mentors - my first saxophone teacher, Mr. DeAngelis (Mr. “D”). Mr. D had an incredible gift for spotting potential/talent very early on and fostering growth. Look no further than the long list of fine musicians/composers/music educators that he produced over his decade’s long career as proof of this (all of whom would say the same thing). To the man who showed such great love and patience towards me when I began my journey as a saxophonist. To the man who introduced me to the jazz greats and the standards. To the man who forced me to be comfortable in front of an audience. To the man who, without a doubt, is partly responsible for who I am today. You will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Mr. D.
