#throwback // It's interesting to think back at the comments I received most with training during my pregnancy. Top comment No# 1: "Your baby will be so tiny and unhealthy." Fact: Our Baby girl Lexington was 9.9lbs / 4.250kg at birth, which is in the ninetieth percentile. Top Comment No# 2 "No wonder there are so many premature births these days with all these dumb "fitspos" weight training while pregnant." Fact: I went 41 weeks + 3 days. Lexi came 11 (long) days after my Due Date. Top comment No# 3: "Give it a rest hun, put your feet up. You're pregnant, stop being so vein and put your baby first." To stop doing what I was doing would have put me a greater risk than to continue at modified capacities. Doctors encourage low risk Pregnant mama's to stay active during pregnancy to avoid complications. // To think of all the grief and concern that those comments caused me, makes me wonder if that the only thing that was detrimental to my wellbeing during pregnancy were idiotic, online trolls. And before you say, "well, why did you post it online then, you're just attention seeking!" I shared my journey to educate, to empower and because I have a supportive husband and community to do so. I'm standing up for those who don't. Because I have a platform and I will use that to stand up for something I believe in. We have a right to exercise safely during pregnancy (after doctors approval) and we should not be made to feel irresponsible, selfish or neglectful for it. It's not for every one, I totally get that and respect that we are all different. Just think before you judge. #transformationtuesday I'm in my bathing suit. On the internet. And honestly? I feel really good right now 🦄 cellulite, stretch marks, pooch, psoriasis, saggy mom boobs- all of it. I wish I could say I've always liked myself, but that's a straight up lie- I truly hated myself before. It wasn't *just* the weight (anxiety and depression are still a struggle), but acting/ eating unhealthy was the largest contributing factor to my awful mood, sick belly, bad skin and hair, self doubt etc. I may not be your ideal body type, but I'm finally starting to be happy for myself, about myself, and I haven't even reached my "end" fitness goal yet. I'd say that's a win. That's worth putting my deflated, dimply ass up for the world to see. Because *I* like what's going on 💃🏻 and that's the most important part of this entire process. Do what makes YOU feel good and don't worry about anyone else's negative opinion- they're going to have them no matter what. (260s vs 170s • 5'6)

LETS GET REAL // these two photos were taken seconds apart, this morning, in the same outfit, in the same spot. I'm the same girl. My success is the same. My value is the same. In the first photo, my pants are pulled up over the soft skin on my hips that never seems to go away since having a baby and I'm flexing while standing in a really flattering way. In the second, my pants are rolled down and cut into the fleshier part of my stomach and I'm standing straight and not flexing. Is this embarrassing? A little. No one wants people to see them in unflattering ways. But I want you to stop comparing yourself to girls online who's outfits are flattering and who are standing j u s t r i g h t and in perfect lighting. Someone recently asked me how I got the looser skin under my belly button to go away post-baby. And the answer is that while my body has naturally shrunk with my weight loss, things like looser skin and stretch marks are just a part of me that probably won't ever go away, I just don't highlight them! Lol! Just because you can't see them in every photo doesn't mean they aren't there. And that's true of all social media! We are all curating and taking 10 photos to get the one we like. We only post the best. And that's okay! Because this platform can be incredibly inspiring. but only IF you can remember that it's only a tiny glimpse, not the whole picture of someone's life. So don't compare your day to day with someone's highlight reel!

This is true in business too! You may see me or someone else that is where you wanna go and you might scroll their feeds and think that everything just fell in their lap. But what you don't see is the late nights, early mornings, rejections, break downs, arguments, burn out, rebuilding, and doubt. It's there though, for everyone. So if you're feeling frustrated comparing yourself or your life to strangers on the internet, please remember this post. It's all the highlight reel guys. Just keep doing your thing! You're probably farther along than you think! ✌🏻

Here's 8️⃣ tips for anyone wanting to start their own fitness journey ⬇️⬇️
▪️Eat as much as possible while trying to burn fat- you need to be in a calorie deficit for weight loss, but my aim is to eat as much as I can while still seeing a downward trend- I like gradual when I'm in a cut 1/2-1 lb weight loss per week- if you have a lot of weight to lose, a 2lb weight loss per week would be my max recommendation- I drastically decreased my binge and overeating tendencies by eating more food than I previously tried to eat when losing weight. And with my increased muscle mass from recent bulks, my fat loss efforts have been even more effective and with even more food
▪️Learn to accept weight fluctuations- I don't feel the need to literally get rid of my scale, because I find it really helpful to track weight trends as I'm carefully doing gradual cuts and bulks- but that's the thing- if you are going to weigh yourself, track trends over time, not day to day changes
▪️Take progress pictures!! The scale doesn't tell a full story and will sometimes have you thinking you are moving backwards- so take pictures and take measurements!
▪️Volume eating when you are in a caloric deficit is very helpful- check out a post I did on the topic here ➡️ #sdangerfitfoodtips
▪️Have resistance training be the center focus of your training and weekly exercise regime
▪️High Intensity interval training (HIIT) is a great tool to pull out of the bag when you hit a plateau and need to keep fat loss moving- use cardio as a tool for maintaining a caloric deficit while working on fat loss- cardio doesn't need to be overdone or be the main focus to lose weight
▪️increasing your NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis)- which is all the energy expended not exercising, eating, or sleeping... having a Fitbit or activity tracker is a great way to increase your NEAT and keep you moving more throughout the day
▪️Most importantly- love your body no matter where you are at in your efforts to get healthier, stronger, leaner, or whatever your goals are ❤
