#MemberMonday : Katie Hellmuth Martin is an enabler for people who want to create a business that can thrive. Personal and creative freedom are important to her, so in this capacity, she has created three entities that help make this happen for others. Katie is the owner of Tin Shingle @tinshingle (www.tinshingle.com), the resource for small (but mighty!) businesses who are working to get the word out. She is the creator and publisher of A Little Beacon Blog @alittlebeacon (www.alittlebeaconblog.com), an online resource for Beaconites, neighboring Hudson Valley towns, and NYCers who dream of greener pastures. She is also a digital marketing producer and designer at InHouse Design Media (www.inhousedesignmedia.com), the design agency used by both companies to produce art for digital marketing and storytelling strategy. In her spare time, Katie folds a lot of laundry, picks up the house, paints furniture and rearranges rooms. She lives in Beacon with her three children, two cats, and one rock solid husband. Join us next Monday at 5:30 PM at A Little Beacon Blog to hear Katie talk Social Media! We look forward to seeing you there.

#MemberMonday : We’re so excited to have Becky Varone of @hvbucketlist be the host of our meeting tonight! Learn more about her below and we look forward to seeing you at 5:30 to hear her talk about partnerships ✨ Meet Becky Varone the owner of Hudson Valley Bucket List, a boutique tour company located in the Hudson Valley. Her specialty is creating unique experiences for getaways, celebrations, and company events in the HUDSON VALLEY! Think tours by foot or by shuttle with chats with local artisans including winemakers, distillers, chefs, makers while giving the lore of the region.
This was a second career for Becky leaving an industry she was in for 15 years. Becoming a mother became her biggest accomplishment and she wanted to create her own path in a successful business. She based her decision on what she would tell her daughter if her daughter came to her with the same scenario; stay in a career unfulfilled or follow an exciting business creating getaways for out-of-towners. She chose the latter and never looked back.

2017 was Becky's first full season hosting tours of the Hudson Valley. A native for over 30 years and she is still exploring. She loves with the evolution of the region and likes giving guests a 20th century perspective while blending the history of the region.

As a woman business owner her company attracts successful businesses for company events including Squarespace, Intralinks, and Legal Shred to name a few. One of the most gratifying parts of the job, giving experiences planned for other successful women. She likes seeing the celebration and comradery on a planned day in the Hudson Valley. Though Hudson Valley Bucket List works with a lot of diversity, women are their biggest customer.
When a woman wants an amazing celebration for her 40th and they can surprise her with special touches like a beautiful pop-up picnic and a toast with strawberry Bellinis. Nothing is more satisfying as to see the birthday girl's jaw drop when she arrives at the vineyard with her pop-up picnic...priceless.

Announcing the first book of the HVWiB Business Book Club ! ✨ This online bookclub will be having its first meeting at noon on February 21st to talk about Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown. For more details and to RSVP head to the Facebook group. We can’t wait to see you there! 📖
