Field trip. Oysters and Pie in the SoPiPi (South of Pike/Pine). First oysters and apps at Lark & Bitter/Raw,(Kusshis, Kumo's and Seared Tuna!), and then this Pepperoni and Shishito Pepper pie last night at Southpaw Pizza that was delightful. Rowan put together a great flight of all 5 species of Oysters grown in North America, and all are grown on the West Coast in some fashion. Each oyster was paired with great Wine or Champagne, and the Flats with Porter. The raising of the Chimney Log.

Architectural Fire as practiced by the Late Western Hood Canal Culture. The Hollow Log set in the Hollow Base, is exercised as both Fire Ritual, and long-lasting burning sculpture by these bivalve and crustacean peoples in their curious and vibrant festival celebrations that often go late into the night of a New Moon and large Tidal Event. During their annual celebrations they have been also observed imbibing local fermented concoctions to further enhance the experience, both as flavor companions to their copious consumption of bivalves, and to generally improve the convivial mood.

Another episode in an Alaskan Oysterman's Holiday included attending this film celebration with a gaggle of the Bivalve Industry's Finest. The story of the Yamashita Family, and their incredible struggles and sacrifices to save and build the West Coast Oyster Industry, by introducing the Japan Oyster, now called the Pacific, the bedrock of thousands of jobs, Oyster Bars, and an essential delicious delight. After, there was a reception starring the cuisine of Master Seafood Chef Xinh Dwelley, and there was some Shuckin' and Imbibin' goin' on from several farms.
