Yesterday was the day. My life has completely revolved around powerlifting for the past 3 months!
A heartfelt thank you to my fantastic coach for not only programming for me, but for truly being my life person. You picked me up when I wasn’t able to, you made me stronger than I ever thought I would be. I know that I drive you crazy most days including yesterday, you have and continue to put so much work into me to make me the best that I can be. Thank you to my friends who have supported me while I disappeared from their lives to prep and for showing up to cheer me on yesterday. @burdi1me you rocked it and couldn’t be more proud to compete with you! Thank you to my family for driving all the way up here to watch me lift and for their continued patience while I rarely came home this semester.
When referring to results I left generally disappointed. I went 7/9. Overall squats went awesome and I couldn’t have asked for more. Bench was real funky and I missed my second attempt. My deadlift has been an issue for months and it showed today on the platform and I finished with a pull 12.5 lbs less than my PR.
Overall I weighed in at 77kg, totaled a PR, took first in the junior and second in the open 84kg class.
Squat: 325 lb / 147.5 kg
Bench: 149 lb / 67.5 kg
Deadlift: 330 lb / 150 kg
Winning a class is cool, but at the end of the day powerlifting is a competition between your old self and the self you create through training. Every time I prep and compete I learn something new about myself, this one was one hell of a learning experience. State championship is in December, and I have already got training on my mind. On to the next one.. never strong enough 💪🏼 #USAPL #girlswhopowerlift
