Kristian Hoff-Andersen  Norwegian architect educated in Copenhagen. These are the things I see, and do, and make. All pictures are taken the same day (or the day before).

Ruin courtyard: My model of the current state of the Lermontov house in Tbilisi, which was gutted by developers in order to be replaced by a copy. The final stages of the demolition were halted by conservationists, but now the building stands derelict. My diploma project involved a partial reconstruction. The materials are cork plate (IKEA's Avskild place mat) and model glue. #archmodel #cork #architecture #diplomaproject #ruin #gutted #courtyard #nofilter #lermontovhouse #gudiashvilisquare #tbilisi

The waterwheel: Early industrial infrastructure at Blaafarveværket, at one time the place which had 80% of the world's production of the pigment cobalt blue, used among others in Royal Copenhagen porcelain and for paints and textiles. The waterwheel drove the plungers needed to crush the ore; these days it's a powerful reminder of what can be achieved with simple means. Reconstructed at the exact location at Haugfossen in 1987, then again in 2014. #waterwheel #woodenstructure #tarred #reconstruction #blaafarveværket #industrial #wood #waterfall #nofilter

Great festival architecture pt. II: The very big flight of stairs. Slottsfjell ("The Castle Mount") in Tønsberg had a strategically placed castle in medieval times, positioned at the top of steep hillsides which allowed for an easy defense and commanding views. At the festival, several important stages are placed just next to the castle ruins, so complementary infrastructure is needed to get the audiences to the music. #slottsfjell #slottsfjell2017 #stairs #architecture #temporaryarchitecture #festival #festivalarchitecture #movement #ashtree

Wall of people/very steep seating. One among several great elements of temporary festival architecture at Slottsfjell 2017. #slottsfjell #slottsfjell2017 #temporaryarchitecture #seating #gallery #stand #concert #architecture #summer

The glorious Deichman library. I still can't believe they're going to vacate these unique premises. #deichmanske #library #ionic #classicism #classicalarchitecture #stakkarsoss #mural #nordicclassicism #skylight #architecture #bw #oslo

Sunset behind the dome of the Marble Church (built 1749-1894, architects Nicolai Eigtved, Nicolas-Henri Jardinand and Ferdinand Meldahl); ash trees, cyclist and the Henning Larsen designed Opera House (2005) on the right. Copenhagen is simply this beautiful at times. #nofilter #lensflare #sunset #light #onthewayhome #copenhagen #københavn #marmorkirken #dome #architecture #bridge #bollards #landscapearchitecture #livinginthecity #cycling #myeveryday

"O hallowed halls and vine-draped walls, the proudliest sight there is." In early June, as the interiors of the exhibition halls are filled with the drawings, models and writings of new diploma projects, the building dresses up its exterior in a garb of Japanese creeper, Parthenocissus tricuspidata. We're all born naked and the rest is drag. #june #brickbuilding #copenhagen #københavn #kadk #architecture #drag #dressingup #parthenocissustricuspidata #japanesecreeper #wicked #nofilter

A rainy summer's day. Garden designed by yours truly; elderberry tree forming the gate with a walk of Oppdal slate underneath and mock- orange in the background. (And yes, I also posted this on 6th September 2015. Same view, different season.) #nofilter #rainyday #gateway #elder #slate #oppdalslate #oppdalskifer #landscapearchitecture #garden #architecture #imadethis #light #drammen
