Just two birds by the ocean

I recently turned 26 and can no longer say I’m in my early 20s 😭. At what age do y’all consider people old?

I sat on the rooftop of a restaurant on the other side of the world that looked directly over the Atlantic Ocean. As the sun set into the horizon and the Moroccan children raced around the shore I thought about how simple happiness can be.

Just lots of small rocks on top of bigger rocks

What’s one of your favorite creative quotes? One of mine is by @iraglass: “Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”

When you’re a kid, there’s no such thing as risk. It’s just fun and curiosity, and the worst thing you can end up with is a scrapped knee. But as you get older, the more you feel like you have to lose. And the same mountains you’ve climbed as a child seem so much taller.

I can watch sunsets all day

I am very happy with how these surf photos turned out. I am also very happy that it’s Friday 🍻

I literally stood at this entrance for 15 minutes waiting for people to get the fuck outta my way. And just when I thought it was clear, this lady strolls in and stands there lost in thought.

It’s been raining a lot in SF. The other day someone told me that they were perfectly okay with California being in a drought 😂

I spent about two days in Barcelona by myself before heading to Morocco. While there, I realized that tapas are amazing, my Spanish still sucks, and no matter how many times you solo travel it’s still challenging.

What’s the most underrated city to visit?
