I can’t wait to leave this Vancouver snow tomorrow! ✈️ I’m flying to Colombia for 5 days and I’m excited because I haven’t really left the house for 2 weeks straight and I really need this vacation to destress. Have you ever had those nights when you’re tired but your mind is constantly racing so it doesn’t allow you to sleep? That’s been me this whole month. 😴
That’s part of entrepreneurship. I start working from the moment I wake up to the moment I HAVE to sleep because my brain 🧠 no longer has creative juice from staring at my laptop 💻 all day.
If you’re thinking about starting your own business, just know that it’s not for everyone.
Ask yourself these questions: 👇🏻
1️⃣What is your WHY (your purpose)? - If it’s to make money 💰, you probably won’t last. You’ll have some good months and you’ll have some bad months. The only thing that will keep you motivated and disciplined is having a greater purpose
2️⃣Are you mentally and emotionally healthy? There are going to be haters, competitors, negativity, self doubt, etc thrown at you. Some days you’re on top of the world 🌎 , and some days you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing. You have to have a strong mindset and be ready to adapt to the changing environment.
3️⃣Are you in an environment that supports your growth? - This might mean cutting out some of your friends. Some of your friends might not support you (even unintentionally) or UNDERSTAND your goals. Find a new work place. Your room is meant for sleeping, so it might not be the best place for you to think creatively. Join a coworking space or a coffee shop if necessary
4️⃣Are you in a good place financially to start? - Depending on what kind of business you have, and what skills you have, it takes weeks - even months - to put things together for your business. Last month I spend DAYS learning about sales funnels, pixels, and all this other crap that I wish I knew when I first started my business. I watched two 1.5 hour long videos on how to set up ONE thing 🤦♀️ . I wanted to hire someone to do it for me, but my bff told me it would be a good idea to learn myself (and I’m so glad I did)
