#MorningReflection 🙏🏾 The new year comes with a lot of traditions. People set New Year Resolutions, they eat black eyed peas and collards, they get dressed up and attend fancy parties. One of the newest New Year Trends is Vision Boarding! Folks do them at home by themselves. They do them with their family members. Some even have big ol Vision Board Parties! But did you know Vision boarding is in the Bible? (Sort of lol) I had no idea until I read my morning devotion today.
Habakkuk 2: 2-3 says, “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with one of my awesome media sister at a workshop for college communications students. As she talked about her journey through the world of radio, she talked about the one time she got let go. She told us that she went home, wrote down the top 30 radio stations on a sheet of paper and at the top she said she would have a job at one of those stations. She carried that paper with her everywhere. She went on to work at a couple of the stations she had listed on that paper and today, she host a morning show in a major market! (She is also a proud graduate of the JCSU! 😉) Be Still, Listen for God to reveal His vision for you, Write it Down, and WAIT! Did you see that last part...Wait! That’s the part that we always forget because we like to put our timeline on God’s vision. That is not what the scripture says. It clearly says, “WAIT for it; because it will surely come.” Oh and by the way, you must WORK during the WAIT! (Come on now!). God isn’t gonna do all the work!
God thank you for speaking to me. Thank your for clearing my mental and physical space and allowing me to realize Your Vision for me. Please give me patience during the wait and energy to do your work. Amen 😘 Ms. Jessica “The Girl Next Door”
