✨SMILE✨
I used to hate when someone said to me: “smile, don’t look so serious”
_
I always thought that it would be fake to smile when I did not feel like smiling.
_
That was until I looked into the research about smiling.
_
Apparently even a “fake grin” can make us feel better if we hold it for a minute.
_
✨Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you will start to see a big difference in your life. ~Yoko Ono✨
_
This weekend I invite you to smile during your meditation. Imagine yourself with a smirky smile or smiling like a Buddha statue and observe if this has any effect on how you are feeling. 🙏

✨HUNGER FOR MORE✨
Have you ever noticed the hunger for more and more and more and this feeling of not enough?
_
Last night I found this perfectly okay original Bertoia Side chair outside of my house as one of my neighbours threw it away.
_
It made me think of abundance and the need to consume more and more and more and the feeling of forgetting all the good things that happened to us.
_
With Christmas around the corner and millions of advertisements showing us how we can “show our love” through buying additional things that often no one needs, I would like to invite you to pause for a moment and sit with the question.
_
Do yo have enough?
Do you have enough?
Do you really have enough?
_
During one of the 10 day silent retreats I attended, a Buddhist nun asked us these questions during meditation.
_
In that moment I realised that right now in this moment I had enough.
_
I had food to eat, clothes that covered my body, a roof over my head and I felt safe.
_
The more I could see that I had enough and the more I could be grateful for what I had, the more I could see the abundance of the universe.
_
I realised that my wanting more and more had come from a feeling inside of “I am not enough” but once I connected with the intrinsic wholeness that went away.
_
That does not mean that I no longer enjoy and appreciate beautiful objects, but the constant need to consume in order to elevate myself or make me feel better has fallen away.
_
It does mean though that I make conscious choices of what I buy. It does mean that I say no to fast fashion and that I only buy things that I can at least wear 30 times if not forever and it does mean that I buy Second Hand.
_
Do you have enough? 🙏

✨MONKEY MIND✨
When a tiger meets a monkey, trouble is usually not far away.
_
Have you ever noticed that your attention jumps from thought to thought like a monkey jumps from branch to branch, tree to tree?
_
When a monkey sees a tiger it essentially does three things: prepare to fight, run away as quickly as it can or it goes into hiding.
_
In a similar way whenever we worry or ruminate or interpret something as a potential threat, our monkey mind acts as if we have been attacked by a tiger and we fall into a fight flight freeze reaction as if our life was in danger.
_
We humans have this remarkable ability to make ourselves feel worst case scenarios by mere thought alone. We feel as if they have already happened and then react from this place.
_
Unfortunately more often than not, our reaction to the situation is vastly out of proportion and we often make matters worse.
_
When was the last time that you experienced this?
_
What were the thoughts, what was the emotion and how was your body feeling?
_
This week I invite you to notice when you feel triggered and write it down.
_
Note down what the situation was, what feeling you were having and where you felt it in your body.
_
Self-awareness is the first step to self-mastery.
_
The more awareness you have on your triggers, the easier it will be to outgrow them and respond differently in the future. 🙏

✨BOUNDLESS✨
Have you ever noticed that you can not see your own face unless you look into the mirror?
_
Can you drop everything you know about your face for an instant and just sense and feel into the space of your face?
_
Sensing into it, does it have a boundary? Suspending the thoughts of where your face and head end, can you actually feel that they have clear boundaries?
_
Can you now sense the space around your body? Does that space have a boundary?
_
Our true nature is boundless like the boundless Skye.
_
Like the clouds in the Skye, our thoughts, concepts and beliefs are what obscures our perception.
_
Just for one moment drop all concepts, beliefs and ideas and just sense and notice what is present in your direct experience.
_
If you find this exploration intriguing, check-out the late philosopher Douglas Harding’s Headless Way. 🙏

✨THOUGHTS✨
Your thoughts are not facts.
_
Thoughts have tremendous power.
_
Our bodies respond to whatever we think in the form of emotions, contraction/expansion, stress/relaxation, feeling down or elated.
_
If I had received a pound for everyone who asked me how they could stop their thoughts, I would be very wealthy by now.
_
Most humans want to stop their thoughts.
_
While we can’t stop our thoughts, we can stop believing them. We can stop paying attention to them and we can start to question their accuracy.
_
Whatever the voice in your head says is not a fact. It is an interpretation and often just plain speculation.
_
Yet a lot of our personality structure and how we experience the world is based around our beliefs, opinions and interpretation of events.
_
Today I invite you to carry your thoughts, beliefs and opinions lightly.
_
Whenever you have an opinion, just for fun, try to argue in the exact opposite way and see what happens.
_
Whenever your mind says I know, see if you can carry this lightly and try to stay in the “I don’t know mind”.
_
Whenever you experience an intrusive thought, just ask yourself who would I be without that thought?
_
Whenever you have a limiting thought or your inner critic runs amok, just say the exact opposite to yourself.
_
Instead of I can’t say I can.
_
Instead of I am not good enough say I deserve it.
_
As always curious to hear about your experiences with this practice. 🙏

✨ROLE PLAY✨
Last week I was pretending for a moment to be a news anchor.
_
As you can see I did not play this role very well - no serious face possible.
_
Have you ever noticed that we all play different roles and different parts switch on and off depending on where you are, with whom you are and how you are feeling on that day.
_
This week I invite you to observe the different parts and roles switching on and off as you go about your days.
_
Identifying the daughter, the mother, the friend, the girlfriend, the businessperson, the 5year old, the confident part, the witty part, the I know the answer part, the insecure part and so on.
_
And while you notice these different parts switching on and off, try to notice, what remains constant.
_
Who or what in you is there during all these roles, all these different parts?
_
Who or what has always been there and what is the quality of that?
_
Would love to hear your experiences with this practice. 🙏

✨THANK YOU✨
I am so grateful for all the people that have touched my life this year, including all of you.
_
Thank you so much for your comments, messages, questions and for attending my live events or listening to my meditations. I am grateful for your presence in my life.
_
✨It is through gratitude for the present moment that the spiritual dimension of life opens up. ~ Eckhart Tolle✨

✨CRISIS TOOLKIT✨
Do you have a crisis toolkit?
_
Starting to meditate can be super difficult.
_
All of a sudden you find yourself alone on the cushion with your inner critic, painful emotions and a painful and restless body.
_
It can be so easy to give up and to seek distraction from pain or discomfort as we humans are primed to avoid discomfort and to seek pleasure.
_
The last four weeks were a bit intense for me with some worrying news that thankfully were all cleared yesterday.
_
I was so grateful for having my practice which allowed me to stay calm & peaceful and experience tremendous insights, learning, growth and magic.
_
I was so grateful that I learned all these tools when all was well in my life and I hope the same for you.
_
Like Jon Kabat-Zinn says don’t use your parachute for the first time in moments of danger, but learn how to use it when you are on safe ground.
_
In a similar way don’t wait for a crisis to hit but build your toolkit when all is well. 🙏

✨North Of Neutral✨
If you could blink your eyes and have any job in the world - regardless of your experience, skills or education - what would that job be?
_
Or perhaps more tellingly, who would you be?
_
This week is one of these weeks where I have to pinch myself as I can’t believe that I get paid for being me and that I get to talk about what I am most passionate about and empower others to unlock their “real self”
_
When you live your life “north of neutral” you know what brings you joy, feel motivated to move forward using your core strengths, and remain optimistic about your future.
_
I am so happy to be part of North Of Neutral (link in bio) collaborating with a team that helps you look beyond the immediate rewards of “living the good life” to focus on what is most meaningful to you, both professionally and personally.
_
If you would like to know more about North Of Neutral or learn more about how I could support you to live your life north of neutral, send me a message. 🙏 #mshuddle

✨KINDNESS✨
Today is World Kindness Day.
_
✨The first element of true love is loving kindness. The essence of loving kindness is being able to offer happiness.
You can be the sunshine for another person. You can’t offer happiness until you have it for yourself.~ Thich Nhat Hanh✨
_
Today I invite you to create a ripple effect of kindness in your world.
_
Start by offering some kindness to yourself and then practice 5 random acts of kindness to loved ones or strangers.
_
If you feel you are already kind, why not take it up a notch today, get a bit out of your comfort zone and do something kind that you would normally consider as silly or a little scary.
_
I would love to hear about your random acts of kindness. Tag a friend to make this challenge more fun.
_
Kindness is infectious -let’s make a difference together.
_
Thank you to everyone who attended this morning’s kindness meditation @theconduitlondon - it was wonderful co-creating with you this morning. 🙏

✨IN A RUSH?✨
Are you always in a rush?
_
To me the biggest luxury is taking time for things.
_
In my first week after leaving the corporate world I was meeting a friend for lunch and while I walked to meet my friend, I noticed the speed with which I was walking and how my body was tensing up.
_
I was not late and did not have to hurry but my autopilot mode was used to rushing.
_
Ever since that moment my default mode is to walk slowly and feel every single footstep.
_
When I walk through the streets of London now I often feel as if there is a speed walking contest going on around me.
_
This weekend I invite you to slow down and take time for things:
_
🔹walk slower than you usually do
🔹have a meal where you don’t check your phone and fully taste each bite
🔹listen to someone without interrupting and without time limit
🔹take a candle-lit bath
_
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.🙏 📸Dario Podesta Wildlife Photographer Of the Year

✨EMBRACE✨
How was your day today? Was it a good day or did you face some challenges?
_
As part of my morning practice I always thank my life exactly as it is right now - for all the good and all the challenges.
_
Practicing gratitude for the good things in life is easy but practicing gratitude for the challenges is a little less obvious, but highly transformative.
_
✨Get rid of all that us unnecessary. Wabi-sabi means treading lightly on the planet and knowing how to appreciate whatever is encountered, no matter how trying, whenever it is encountered. Leonard Koren✨
_
The universe has your back and every challenge is here to make us grow, look deeper, let go and transcend. 🙏
