Julia F Westfall  Hera Hub DC is a shared, flexible work and meeting space where entrepreneurial women can create and collaborate in a spa-like environment.

Delighted to help these @au_soc students Yan Shi and Mawal Sidi with their class project today. They needed to do interviews and get some additional shots and sound. Once back at the studio, they will put together their segment for a three o’clock show. Many thanks to Sarah Gonzales of Tungsten Prep for giving them a second interview!

Day 4: (full disclosure, I'm a day late!) This past Friday I had a interview with a publication. About 5 minutes before the call, I realized I needed to reach out to a few members who could talk with the interviewer.

And there was a deadline.
So I sent a quick email to four of my members, hoping at least one or two would reply before the end of the day.
To my surprise, they all responded right away with a "Yes, of course," giving times that they could talk that afternoon.

I really shouldn't have been surprised. Each of these women had told me, on other occasions, how much they appreciated the Hera Hub community and how it had made a difference for them and their business.
What I realized is that it sometimes we forget to ask people for their help and support. When we do ask, they give it willingly. Just as I would. Just as you would. But many times we don't even ask.
So today (actually everyday) I am thankful for my member community. They showed me that it's ok to ask for help and support. Actually, it's better than ok.

It's amazing.

Day 3: December 5, 2013 I sent my husband an email titled "Potential business idea for us." I had just read an article in The New York Times - "After a Car Accident, an Entrepreneur Decides to Think Big." Felena Hanson’s story.
At first I was amazed by her story. The prospect of being part of the expansion of her female-focused coworking space also was intriguing. We decided to wait until after the holidays before reaching out for more information.

On January 9th, 2014, I reached out and the rest is history. My visit to the locations in San Diego was fast and furious, but the more I got to know Felena, the more I knew I had found my next step. We sealed the deal on April 11, 2014 and Hera Hub DC became their first expansion location!

So today I am thankful for @felenahanson and @herahub and the wonderful #theheratribe now global, that inspire each other every day. She changed my life. Thank you.

#UpandOver and #30daysofthankfulness

So I decided after my post yesterday that I would share something every day that I am thankful for for the month of November.

Today I want to let @dianaludet and @kathykarlsonstudio know how thankful I am for the beautiful artwork that has graced these walls for 2 1/2 years.
Diana filled my space with beautiful work - some painted especially for Hera Hub DC - from the day we opened. She continues to bring other artists here and works so diligently to get the shows installed! She helps me “transition” from show to show and embrace new work and expand my appreciation for how important art is to creating the vibe and feel of a place. Some of her work has taken up permanent residence at Hera Hub and is enjoyed by so many every day.
Kathy has also brought such beauty and expression here with her work and her personal support of other artists by introducing us to their work for our shows. She will continue to have a space here to so stop by and see her work! We love it!

So thankful for everything you have done to support #theheratribe .

Please join me for #30daysofthankfullness and share your 30! You need to catch up today for yesterday!

Hard to believe it’s the last #angelvf2017 session before the pitch event. Learning about financials and funding with Cheryl Heusser with Snyder Cohn. Thanks @valgaydos for bringing this to Hera Hub DC!
