Henry Diltz

A sort of random group shot from the archives: Steppenwolf in 1969. My millennial assistant @calicosmic saw this and said "I rarely get to see guys who look like this"

I photographed them a lot in the 60's and did a couple of their album covers. This was when I was on the road with them on a trip to play the Ed Sullivan show.

Tim Buckley back in the mid 60's when my pal Jerry Yester was producing him. I even got to play harmonica on one of his songs, "Once There Was" ...and it even got put in a movie: "Coming Home" with Jon Voight and Jane Fonda. Most people knew the son, Jeff Buckley, but I knew the father. Nowadays that's often the way it is.

The Eagles in Topanga Canyon back in 1973. They just played at Dodger Stadium (some of them) ...wish I could have gone, but it sounded too big and complicated.
I sure do love em though.

Had a great time photographing @jjjennyo this afternoon.

Stopped by the Laurel Canyon Country Store and got a spontaneous tour from Tommy, the owner. Mama Cass lived in the basement. Behind us is her walled in "secret entrance" ...wish she was still here to tell us about it.

Here's some heavies who appeared at an Amnesty International concert on September 2nd, 1988. Can you name them left to right?
I believe it was the first time I had seen any of them in real life. That's part of the thrill of being a photographer. I've seen some crazy shit man. (Bono, Tracy Chapman, Sting, Bruce Springsteen)

One of my favorite people at Monterey Pop was/ is @sarawatkins. Took this picture behind the stage right after her performance. I sure like her energy.

Red Hot Chili Peppers were so trippy at Bonnaroo. Their music fits like a worn in glove to me, but still very current and exciting. Each member has such an individual personality. We really enjoyed standing in a big field laughing and boogying into the midnight hour.
Cant account for the time between 1am and 5am that night.... did anybody see me?

Lost my mind at Monterey Pop Festival. Damn that weed soda! Great music though.

Taking pictures of @jackjohnson Saturday night at the @montereypopfest ..only the second one in 50 years! Brought to you by @sprigsoda #montereypop

50 years since Jimi Hendrix lit his guitar on fire 🔥 We have a @morrisonhotelgallery set up at the @montereypopfest - if you're at the festival, come by and see us. Three days of great music to hear and a lot to see! #montereypop

Morning lattes at Tom O'Neal's house in Carmel Valley. Sitting in paradise discussing F-stops and the afterlife. We will be talking in a panel with other Monterey Pop photographers tonight at the Monterey Art Museum. Looking forward to the weekend! #montereypop
